Hilton HHonors Gold & Diamond Status Match & Challenge & Fast Track Offer

Hilton has been offering fast tracks or instant status to Hilton HHonors Gold status via MVP program, which requires 4 stays during a 90 day period, and through a credit card affiliation in the Asia Pacific regions that requires no stays but rather a Visa card (you can get this work in other regions as well). If getting a gold status is important, I would take advantage of one of these two offers.

But, if you prefer having an instant or fast track offer to Gold or Diamond status via status match from a competing program, that is possible as well, although Hilton doesn’t make it as easy as Starwood, Hyatt, or Marriott. You can read more about Starwood Platinum challenge, Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond trial/challenge and Marriott Rewards Gold/Platinum Match/Taste of Gold/Platinum.

Hilton HHonors offers a fast track to Diamond and here is what you need to do:

– You need to gather your 2011 year end activity that shows the number of stays and nights at the competing chains.

– Hilton considers year end summaries from the following chains: Marriott, Hyatt, Starwood, IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), Fairmont Presidents Club, Choice, and Accor

– You need to mail or fax the competing year end summary or summaries to:

HHonors Service Center
PO Box 9003
Addison, TX 75001
Fax: 972-788-1818

Alternatively you can try emailing them to hhonors@hilton.com.

– If they consider you to a fast track offer, you will most likely get a match to Silver or Gold status instantaneously, and then a fast track to Diamond offer that usually requires 21 nights during a 90 day period.

– Although Hilton says that they do not match to Diamond status, they have done it previously. Maybe, if you are able to show a very high number of nights at competing chains in 2011, they might offer you one.

Given the benefits associated with the Diamond membership level as well as the commitment we uphold for those who achieve Diamond, we currently do not provide tier matching or complimentary status.

Last Autumn, I requested fast track to Diamond. I was working away 4 days a week. I completed the 21 days stay in a month rather than the 90 day prescribed period. The challenge I had was getting the Honours system to recognise the revised status or receipt of the card. We had to get my most frequent stayed hotel to manually enter the revised status levels. I have no problems now & frequently get upgraded as Diamond .

    • I don’t think that I have ever needed to show the card. Did you make the reservations BEFORE you were upgraded to Diamond status? It might be the case that the status that you had at the time of making the reservation got transferred to the hotel.

Spent 4 years as a Marriott platinum, this year I only made Gold. Wanted to status match to Hilton / Gold. They wouldn’t match me and tried to “fast track” me. No thanks. Either match me or I’m not trying your properties…..

    • My advise would be to call again. As long as they have not notated your account, you can get different offers. The other option is to do the MVP Gold offer. You will get Gold after just four stays. If you stay at the properties like Hampton or Hilton garden Inn, there are no benefits beyond Gold anyway and you are not missing on Gold/Diamond benefits.

I have been following your blog for a few months now and since then I’ve acquired Marriott Platinum level by joining the “Taste of Platinum” challenge, Club Carlson Gold Elite membership by just sending a screenshot of my Marriott account page to them and now the HHonors Gold membership by emailing them the screenshot of Marriott and Carlson account overviews.
They also put me up for the Diamond status challenge starting today and ending October 1. I emailed them back and asked for the challenge to start from October because I will not be traveling again until then. Hope they’ll comply with my request…
Thanks for keeping us informed of the little shortcuts to “happiness”.

    • I could reply to your in Finnish as well, but this is English site….

Good that you have been able to take advantage of the status match opportunities that the chains are offering. Just to thing to remember is that sometimes these can be once in a lifetime (account/address). Hope that you have been able to work the Club Carlson promotions and Marriott’s free night certificates after two stays.

      • Matt

hey Jon, what do you mean by “once in a lifetime”? with these status match opportunities, do they last for only a year? thanks.

        • Airlines and hotels tend to do a status match only one time per account (person). If you have done status match previously, the don’t usually do it again. There are exceptions, however.

I emailed 3 days ago Hilton to get a status match from my IGH Platinum account. I am already Silver with 5 stays this year. I got a reply 2 days later mentioning I got matched to gold and mentioned that if I would stay 21 nights, until January 11th 2013, I would get matched to Diamond. Not sure if I will be able to make it but worth to try…
I don’t know for how long will my gold status be valid though… Cannot find it on my HHonors account.

  • Chris

I tried to match to Accor Platinum, but they wanted proof of the number of stays. As I’d only stayed once, I didn’t persue it any further.

…….We are always thrilled any time a
member reaches out to us in an effort to attain our most prestigious Diamond
    membership level.

As you have reached the highest achievable level of membership with one of our
hotel competitors, we are happy to extend a special one-time offer to fast
track to Diamond tier level. If within the next 90 days, from today’s date, you
record 21 eligible nights at any participating HHonors hotel, your account will
be automatically upgraded to the Diamond tier status through March 31, 2015.

In the interim, we have upgraded your account to Gold membership level so that
you may begin to enjoy the benefits while working to earn Diamond……..

    • Yep. The offer is still good. I need to do a new write up for 2013 about this.
