Hilton Friends & Family Offer for 50% Off Between December 14 to January 7 – Excellent rates

Hilton has a public Friends and Family offer for travel between December 14 and January 7, 2013. The rate does qualify for points and stay credit. You can access this offer here.

The discount varies by the brand:

Save 50% at these participating hotels and resorts:
-Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton, Embassy Suites, and Hilton Grand Vacations

Save 30% at these participating hotels and resorts:
– Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton, Homewood Suites, and Home2 Suites

This promotion returns exceptional rates at many properties:

Conrad Bangkok

I have never seen a rate as low as 2900 THB per night for this Conrad hotel.

Conrad Singapore

The rate for the Conrad for the date I was looking at was 162 SGD.

Hilton Narita

I sometimes stay at the Hilton Narita if I have an overnight transit in Tokyo or if I am arriving very late or have an early departure. The rate of 4000 yen is the lowest I have ever seen for this property as well.

Conrad New York

The rates in New York are really low using this rate as well. Conrad New York for $144?

This appears to be a genuine offer for 50% discount off of the BAR. It returns some exceptionally good rates. The offer is also eligible for stay credit and points per the terms and conditions of this offer.

Business travel is very slow at the both sides of Christmas and New Years. It makes sense for hotels to discount to keep the occupancy rates up.

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:

Thank You Rate is valid at participating hotels worldwide for stays booked between December 5, 2012 and January 7, 2013, and completed between December 14, 2012 and January 7, 2013. Rates are subject to availability and are not available on December 31, 2012. Be sure to review the hotel’s cancellation/change policy at time of booking. This offer may not be combined with other select promotions, offer or discounts and is not valid for existing reservations or groups. All reservations for this rate must be made on the website

why why why? Hilton rate is like stock market now, I’m sick of its constanting changing rate….ugh, I’ll have to try to sweet talk the hotel booking agent, hopefully they’ll cancel my previous Any Weekeend rate……

    • Have they charged the booking yet? You probably has the best luck by contacting the hotel directly.

      • kevin

they won’t budge, oh, well, a hard lesson learned, I’ll be extra careful booking any pre-paid rate…especially with Hilton

        • Did you contact the hotel or central reservations? You could ask them to give you the rate difference as food and beverage credit. You should work this out with the property. I wouldn’t give up easily. Just be very polite all the times.

Hey John, Same issue with Kevin. Booked any weekend rate, and they won’t budge…Its Waldorf in NYC, Price difference is high…What can you advice to do?

          • Have they charged your credit card? Did you contact the hotel directly and not the Hilton’s reservations?

I would ask them to give you the difference in inhouse food & beverage credit if anything else fails.

You can use Linkedin to find the contact info for the management of the hotel if everything else fails.

Just be very polite as they don’t have to change your reservation to a lower rate.

WOW! I just used these to rebook more than half of our hotels for our California road trip over the holidays. The Beverly Hilton went from over $300 to $160! Fantastic, thanks for the tip!

    • This is truly exceptional discount offer from Hilton that they are not promoting at all.

Thank you so much for this post! I booked 5 nights of hotel at the Hilton Tokyo during Christmas period (notoriously expensive time) and got a great deal at Deluxe King room for about USD193 per night. And I get points plus I am on my way in fulfilling the spending requirement for the Citi Hilton reserve card! With gold status, I am set for a wonderful wedding anniversary! 🙂

    Hi John
It turns out that this promotion is valid only for the family and friends of hilton employees.
Some hilton brand hotels require customer to present employee name and other information, such as relation to the employee, as well.
    Do you have any idea?
Is this promotion really valid for employees family and friends only?

    • There are no indications on the terms and conditions of this rate promotion that this would be a Friends & Family rate that would require a name of an employee. The real employee and close family rates do not earn points or stay credit.

        thnx. great post btw.

  • Yiwee

    Great post. You’re da man.
Made a few reservations cheaply too!

Sorry, you are totally misleading your readers, there is absoultely nowhere mentioned that this rate qualify for stay credits, it only mentioned one would earn points. There had been 4 people already caledl or emailed HHONORS, and the answer is negative for stay credit, but positive for points.

    • How often do you receive incorrect information from the front line CSR? They are just confusing this rate with others. This is NOT a true Friends & Family rate that needs to be booked internally.

  • noel

Confused- I have booked a room using the THANK YOU RATE (NON-COMMISSIONABLE) note the end of it which seems to be new. Does the statement non-commissionable mean no stay points? Does this rate plan not include stay points?

    • NON-COMMISSIONABLE only means that the rate is not eligible for travel agent commission that is typically 10%.
