Priority Club just changed the award categories/points requirements of more than half of the properties on its portfolio. More went up compared to down. Unlike all other major hotel chains, Priority club has refused to release a list of properties of moving up/down.
We have now updated the Priority Club / InterContinental Hotels Group Master Property list with the new point requirements.
Note that this list is missing about 250 properties. If you know a property that is not on the list, please leave a message below or send me an email. Include the property name, previous point requirement (if you know it) and the current one. We will periodically update this list. We have not included the missing properties that we have been made aware of in the past 24 hours.
You can book using the old point requirement until March 18, 2013, but you can only do this by phone. Priority Club uses outsourced call center in the Philippines and you may come across an uninformed agent. Just hang up and call again or request the call to be transferred to a supervisor if they refuse to book using old points requirements.
“If you have a current Reward Night reservation we will not be changing the points required and any new Reward Night reservations you book before January 18th will be at the current price point. And, because we want this change to be as easy as possible, we’re honoring the old points required for any new Reward Night reservations made through March 18th. Our Priority Club Rewards Service Center agents are trained to help; just call and ask for the old price.”
This is according to John Muehlbauer
Director, Priority Club Rewards
You can compare the new point requirements to the ones by having a look at the updated property list that we have just released. .
If you have award reservations, you should check the current point requirements. Request adjustment if the number of points required for the free night has gone down.
Conclusion
The award night point requirements have significantly up in major metropolitan areas like San Francisco, New York, London etc. I will have more analysis about this change tomorrow.
