Crediting Le Club Accorhotel Points to Iberia Avios

by John O. on January 23, 2013

Iberia is one of the better airline partners of the Le Club Accorhotels. The ability to choose Iberia Avios as your partner was recently put on hold, but is back up again.

With most of the other airline programs (there are exceptions), you will earn ONE airline mile per TWO Le Club Accorhotels points. With Iberia this exchange rate is different, however. Every TWO Le Club Accorhotels points converts to FIVE Iberia Avios.

What doesn’t make too much sense is the fact that you can collect Avios via British Airways as well. Your 2 Le Club Accorhotels points would convert to only 1 Avios points instead of 5 with Iberia. You can transfer Avios freely between British Airways Executive Club and Iberia Plus.

If you have Le Club Accorhotels Platinum status, you would earn 4 Le Club points per Euro charged (most Accor hotels) that would turn to 10 Iberia Avios points. That is not bad at all.

Conclusion

Converting to Le Club Accorhotels points to Iberia Avios is one of the bright spots of the program. You can also start directly at the Le Club Accorhotels Platinum level by following my instructions here.

Can Avios then be converted back to Le Club points?

    • http://loyaltylobby.com/ John O.

You cannot. You can use them for BA and oneworld alliance flights.

Perfect for my stay at a Mercure next week, thanks!

I tried to convert 2000 Le Club pts to Avois, but failed. Any hint please

You tried to convert them to Iberia Plus? The automatic credit should work just fine. (These points are from the recent game thing?)

        Maybe because of this T&C?

“The minimum transferable amount for each of these airline companies is 4,000 Le Club Accorhotels points”

If you do the automatic transfer, even the lesser number of points will move after your stay.

Sadly not always the case – only some promo sign up links do this. I’ve had auto convert on for months and none of mine moved across.

Thanks for clarifying me. Maybe trying to hit the 4K point requirement for a transfer and do it then?

          • Alan

Good news – found a working link that enables transfer with no minimum – see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/19738678-post183.html. My 2,500 Accor points converted to 6,250 IB Avios this morning!

      • Andy F.

Yes, the 2k pts are from the map game (?). I don’t know how to treat them as these points are non-exchangable at points.com.
