InterContinental Hotels Group is having a Chinese New Year & 5 Day Flash sales for their Chinese properties. You can book them at up to 50% off. You can access Priority Club web page for this sale here.

There are two separate offers:

1. Limited-time offer of 50% off room rates: From now till 28 March 2013, book two days in advance with our special “Advanced Booking Rate” for a stay before 31 March for up to 50% off Best Flexible Rates at InterContinental®, Crowne Plaza®, Hotel Indigo® and Holiday Inn® hotels in China; and up to 25% off Best Flexible Rates at Holiday Inn Express® hotels in China.

2. Limited-time “5-day Sale” for stays during February: From 22-26 January 2013, book a minimum 2-night stay during February with the “Advanced Booking Rate” to enjoy up to 50% off room rates at all InterContinental Hotels Group hotels in China! Don’t miss this great offer. Be the first to enjoy this limited-time only sale!

There are few differences between these offers. In most cases, the first one doesn’t require prepayment or even guarantee using a credit card. It is also cancellation until 6PM on the day of arrival and is only valid for stays of two days or longer. The discount is only up to 25% at the Holiday Inn Express hotels. The discount at other brands is up to 50%. This offer is bookable until March 28 for stays until March 31, 2013.

There doesn’t appear to be minimum stay requirement on the 5 Day Sale-rate that is only valid for stays between February 1 and February 28, 2013. You need to book this offer by 23:59 GMT on February 26, 2013

In both cases the rate code is IDCAB.

Indigo Shanghai

The offer does discount the BAR (Best Available Rate) by 50%. There is an advance purchase rate with breakfast for 920 CNY available as well.

InterContinental Chengdu

The advance booking offer is exactly at 50% off of the BAR. There are no other discounted rates available.

Crowne Plaza Beijing Wangfujing

Again, the discounted rate is 50% off of the BAR. There is a advance purchase rate with breakfast for 500 CNY as well.

Conclusion

This appears to be a genuine offer for good discount at the Chinese hotels. I really like the fact that the rates are not prepaid and the cancellation is allowed without a fee until 6PM on the day of arrival.
