EVA Air and Star Alliance signed an agreement in Taipei on March 29, 2012, that the airline would join the alliance in 2013 after meeting the entry requirements. The expected date that was announced in 2012 was 2nd quarter of 2013.
Now, there has been industry wide rumors that the airline would officially join the alliance in early/mid-June this year.
