Here’s the monthly update on current hotel promotions. There are very interesting promotions from IHG Rewards Club, Marriott & Ritz-Carlton. Hyatt still doesn’t have a global promotion for second month in a row, but launched targeted promotions for few stays .

There are so many different IHG Rewards Club promotions that I wrote IHG Rewards Club Summer 2013 Promotion Guide.

You can get cash back for most of your hotel bookings and you can read more about it here: Cashback for Your Hotel and Travel Bookings.

If I have missed any hotel points or rate promotions, just leave a message below or send me an email to

This is the Compensation Clinic-series about troubles encountered during travels and problem (compensation) resolutions afterward. You can send me your horror and success stories by email and I will publish the best ones in the coming weeks.

Here’s an email that I received from a LoyaltyLobby reader in the UK. He had had great troubles first with the hotel and then with the customer service to actually get the compensation delivered that he was promised. [click to continue…]

Radisson chain is losing one of its Paris properties the Radisson Blu Ambassador hotel to Marriott on July 1, 2013. You still have today (June 30) to book it using Club Carlson points.

Considering the current Marriott properties in Paris and their award categories, it is likely that Marriott Opera Ambassador hotel will open as category 8 (40,000 points per night) or category 9 (45,000) points per night. [click to continue…]

Delta & Hawaiian Airlines frequent flier partnership is coming to an end. The last day to redeem miles is on July 31, 2013 (you can book up to a year in advance) and to earn on September 15, 2013. This is based on the information posted on Hawaiian’s HawaiianMiles website.

Delta recently sorted their partner airlines to four categories and Hawaiian Airlines was on the last one with the least benefits for Delta frequent fliers. You can read more about that change here. [click to continue…]

Expedia Rewards just sent me an email about 3-month Expedia Elite Plus trial they had extended until September and offer to keep it until February, 2015, by booking 3 nights at any Vip Access Hotel.

I recently booked twice one hotel in Bali and each time did a Best Price Guarantee to get $50 off of coupons for future stays. Then I used those coupons in Barcelona during the F1 week, when the hotel prices were through the roof. I also booked one dirt cheap hotel for a friend that week. [click to continue…]

There was an article on Reuters yesterday (read it here) that was referring to a Russian publication Kommersant about Aeroflot’s preference of Star Alliance over SkyTeam due to unfavorable agreements with i.e. Delta.

The article also states that some board member had said that it was unlikely that they would drop the alliance unless there was a political reason to do so. The board member also continues that the airline would likely join the Star Alliance that would help it to become more competitive. [click to continue…]
