Qatar Airways and Oneworld signed an agreement in October 2012 that the airline would join the alliance in 12 to 18 months time and that the British Airways would be the sponsoring airline.

It was expected that the official joining date for the Qatar to join the alliance would be sometime in late 2013 or early 2014. Due to heavy passenger traffic around the year end holidays, it is unlikely that the joining would happen in December or January. [click to continue…]

There was an interesting piece on the Telegraph’s website (you can access the article here) about the complaints that the Norwegian discount carrier had received after launching its first long-haul flights.
