Preferred Hotel Group consists of 650 independent hotels and the group’s hotel loyalty program is called iPrefer. Until now, you have not earned free nights or points for your stays, but change is coming on August 15, 2013

The new iPrefer program will have three tiers: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. The Silver is the base level one and you will earn more benefits and points when you become Gold or Platinum member.

You can also start earning points that you can turn to free night certificates or use them for hotel services. There is not much available about this new program on iPrefer’s website here.

The current benefits for iPrefer members are rather vague.

Conclusion

Writing about iPrefer has been on my to-do list already for a while. I have stayed at one iPrefer participating hotel two years ago in Marrakesh and they first couldn’t even find my reservation that I had done for same day arrival on iPrefer’s website, but it got eventually sorted out and a nice upgrade to a suite was provided by the property.

I have requested more information about the point earning, elite structure and the hotel categories/free night awards from Preferred Hotel Group and will keep you updated.

I stayed at Andel’s berlin during Jetsetter’s $75 off per booking two years back. Added on iPrefer membership number and got further upgraded to an even bigger suite + club access and breakfast. I paid something like $110 for 4 nights in the end.

So we all start out at the basic level then?

Seems that Silver is the base level with this program. We should learn more about their program soon.

Hello. Tiered status upon the launch of the program will be determined by stay history over the past 12 months. Most members will begin at the Silver level, with benefits including the points accumulation, complimentary Internet, and priority early check-in/late check-out. We will be happy to share more details upon August 15.

Although it’s nice to be able to collect points, the previous system looks like it was better for those that only stayed occasionally – free upgrades are now only available to higher tiers.

      That’s true.
