SPG Take Two Promotion For Double Points & 2500 Bonus For Every 5 Nights September 1-December 15

SPG just announced their next promo that is for double points and 2500 bonus points for every five nights for up to 10,000 bonus points after 20 nights. This promotion is valid for stays between September 1 and December 15, 2013, and requires registration by October 31.

Note that the registration for this promotion is not yet open and I will do an updated post once it is. Make sure to note the 100+ properties that have decided not to participate to this promotion.

If you read the terms and conditions, it seems that the 2500 bonus points for every 5 nights would be valid at ALL properties and the exclusion list below would only apply for the double Starpoints part. EDIT: The 2500 bonus points for every 5 nights is only valid at participating properties as well.

This is fairly typical Starwood promotion with a double points component that is funded by the properties and thus some have decided not to participate, and 2500 bonus points for every 5 nights that is funded by the SPG.

Registration: Members must register online at spg.com/taketwo by October 31, 2013, midnight Eastern Time (ET). Registered members can earn bonus Starpoints® for every eligible stay between September 1, 2013, and December 15, 2013 (the “promotion period”), at more than 1,000 participating Starwood hotels and resorts. A list of properties not participating in this promotion can be found at spg.com/taketwo and is subject to change.

Earning & Bonusing:
Double Starpoints: Registered members will earn double Starpoints on eligible stays at participating properties during the promotion period. Members who earn double Starpoints will earn an additional two Starpoints per eligible US$1 spent (for a total of four Starpoints per dollar). Elite-level extra Starpoint earnings and other bonuses will not be doubled. Only the base two-Starpoints-per-dollar earnings are doubled. Double Starpoints will post to the registered member’s account within 2–4 weeks after the qualifying stay posts.
10,000 Starpoints Bonus: Registered members can also earn an additional 2,500 bonus Starpoints for every 5 eligible nights between September 1 and December 15, 2013, up to 10,000 bonus Starpoints after 20 eligible nights. Bonus Starpoints will post to the registered member’s account within 2–4 weeks after the qualifying stay posts that includes the 5th, 10th, 15th and 20th eligible night (bonus Starpoints will be awarded after the complete stay posts, regardless of when the qualifying nights within a given stay occur).

Eligible Stays: An Eligible Stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights paying an Eligible Rate in the same hotel regardless of the number of check-ins or checkouts that occur and post to the member’s Starwood Preferred Guest® account. Award stays and Cash & Point stays are not eligible earning stays for this promotion. Eligible Stays with at least one night in the earning period will receive double Starpoints but only nights occurring from September 1 through December 15 will qualify towards the 10,000-Starpoint bonus threshold. An Eligible Night is a night paying an Eligible Rate during the promotion period. Eligible Nights do not have to be consecutive and can be accumulated across multiple stays to be eligible for the 10,000-Starpoint bonus threshold. An Eligible Rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest program.     Dubai is almost totally excluded inthis promotion !! Useless!

    • There are still properties in Dubai that don’t participate to SPG program at all and those are also included in the above list.

    Too bad my stay at the W Seattle is from aug 25-27, which is right before the promotion start date. At least I was able to take advantage of the promotion earlier in the year at the Sheraton Bellevue.

    If I book 3 room for a night, will I get 3 ‘nights’ to qualify for this promotion if i pay eligible rate?

    • I have now read the promotional terms and conditions several times and there are no exclusions for this. I think that you should be good to go. Let me know if the bonus points/extra night credits for the 2,500 bonus for every five nights post correctly.
