Marriott Rewards Fall 2013 MegaBonus September 15 – January 15

by John Ollila on August 6, 2013

Marriott Rewards just launched their fall 2013 MegaBonus that is valid for stays between September 15 and January 15, 2014. You need to register for this promotion by November 15, 2013 (Marriott usually allows late registrations by contacting customer service).

Here are the options for the Marriott Rewards Fall 2013 MegaBonus:

1. Free night category 1-5 certificate for every two stays. Maximum of two free night certificates.

2. 25,000 bonus points after 15 nights + additional 15,000 bonus points after 20 paid nights for total of 40,000 bonus points for 20 nights.

3. 25,000 bonus points after 12 nights + additional 15,000 bonus points after 18 paid nights for total of 40,000 bonus points for 18 nights.

4. 35,000 bonus points after 20 nights + additional 15,000 bonus points after 25 paid nights for total of 50,000 bonus points for 25 nights.

You can find the terms and conditions for each of these promotions at the end of this artcile. If you have received some other MegaBonus option not listed above, please leave a message below or send me an email.

You can access the Marriott’s page for this promotion at MarriottRewards.com/MegaBonus2013. Alternatively, you should find your targeted promotion by logging in to your Marriott Rewards and going to Promotion Central. The base version of this promotion that is open to all is the option number 1 above.

I was targeted for the free night certificate version of this promotion and it does work for me. If the targeted promotion doesn’t work for you, I have written a piece about how to get it changed (you can access it here). Marriott unofficially allows targeted promotions to be changed. I have done it by myself in the past.

Conclusion

Marriott has been extremely predictable with its MegaBonus promotions for years and they announce these well in advance.

My personal choice for the past few years has always been the free night certificates. Seems that Marriott has now moved to category 1-5 ones and the option for category 1-4 has disappeared.

  • Targeted

Is this offer targeted? ….The member receiving this offer has been specifically targeted and the offer is not transferable.

    • http://loyaltylobby.com/ John O.

The free night cert version is open for all and is not targeted. The other options are but customer service has always been willing to switch the promotion.

  • DrSavant

Sounds like it is targeted – it tells me that I cannot access this promotion, and nothing like this shows up in my Promotion Central.

    • http://loyaltylobby.com/ John O.

The number one option for free night certs is definitely open for all. Sometimes it takes some time for the promo to show up in all accounts. If it doesn’t show up, just email or call the Marriott Rewards customer service and request them to sign you up manually.

Is the ‘stay’ defined as just 1 night spent in the promotion period? (or more than 2 nights?)

    • http://loyaltylobby.com/ John O.

For this promotion a stay is one or more consecutive nights at the same hotel during promotional period. Your stay can be one night.

      • Jupp

        Thank you, Kob Khun Krab.

  • HYPERBOREI

What kind of rates will be qualified for this promo…expedia ..etc ? Thx.

    • http://loyaltylobby.com/ John O.

Rates that qualify for points. Practically all rates on Expedia won’t qualify. There are some rates on Expedia’s corporate arm that may qualify.
