You will receive free night award for EVERY 2 different IHG brands subsequently visited. Once you have qualified for the first rewards the brands will reset. You can visit the same two brands again.

You can earn maximum of four free night awards that are redeemable at IHG hotels in Greater China. These are redeemable online between October 1 and May 31, 2014. Friends and Family rates (IVFFB and IVFF1) are eligible for this promotion, although they don’t earn points.

This is not an impressive offer even I am living in Hong Kong. Do you have any idea what is the best value to spend this free night for? Indigo Hong Kong? InterContinental Hong Kong?

    • I think that this is FANTASTIC offer because you can turn cheap one night stays to IC free night awards.

      • pacifico

OK, let me try to do 1 night at Holiday Inn Express Shenzhen Lohu please 1 night at Crowne Plaza Longguang to each a night stay at IC HKG…haha

      • pacifico

OK, let me try to do 1 night at Holiday Inn Express Shenzhen Lohu plus
1 night at Crowne Plaza Longguang to earn a night stay at IC HKG…haha

  • Typhoon45

Is Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express regarded as different brand?

    • Absolutely.

      • Typhoon45

Thank you.I am a newbie and in your experience how easy is it to redeem free night at high-end property like InterContinental Hong Kong

        for this type of promo?

        • I don’t believe that it would be a problem unless you are trying to use at the very last minute when they are about to expire.

  • Absolutely. Very good deal for Hong Kong.

  • James

What do you reckon, will this work alongside the “Win Big” promotion? Seems you can register for both, would one over-rule the other?

    • That is really interesting question to be honest. You successfully registered for both? The terms and conditions of this promo explicitly state (they usually don’t):

“Eligible Greater China Members registered to the ‘China Dream’ Promotion cannot register into other public IHG® Rewards Club member promotions.”

      • James

Well I got an email inviting me to this, registered with the code.
Then used the separate website to sign up for the Win Big promotion. No idea if one will cancel the other, and don’t really want to call to alert.

      • Tom li

So do you recommend to sign up for both? Is it possible ihg remove the points after finding out i have signed up for both?

        • That’s what I would do and hope for the best.

  • Typhoon45

How about Holiday Inn Resort? Is it excluded from this promo in earning?Or is it part of Holiday Inn and included in earning?

    • Considered Holiday Inn under this promotion.

  • TC

I’m kind of confused what IHG means by “sequentially”. Does this mean two consecutive nights in two different IHG brands (say one night in Holiday Inn and the NEXT night in Holiday Inn Express) or does it mean two non-consecutive nights (say Aug 30 and Sept 6) in two different IHG brands? Appreciate the help.

    • Day 1: Holiday Inn + Day 2 Holiday Inn Express = Award + brands reset
Day 3: Holiday Inn + Day 4 Crowne Plaza = Award + brand reset
Day 6 Crowne Plaza + Day 7 Holiday Inn = Award + brand reset

      • Tom Li

So Day 1 Holiday Inn + Day 3 Holiday Inn Express is not eligible?

Hi John, does the night have to be together? e.g Can I do Monday at Holiday inn, then Friday in Holiday Inn express Or it has to be Monday holiday Inn then Tuesday Holiday Inn express?

    • They don’t have to be on consecutive nights. Your first example is fine as well.

    Hi john
I’m trying to register for this promotion but it says the promo code is incorrect? Help please!? Thanks

    • The promo code is correct. Are you sure that you have not previously signed up for this?

  • Jeff

Can I do IC at Jakarta and then IC in China for this ?

    • Would only be considered one brand for the purpose of this promo.

  • David

A few questions, if you don’t mind 🙂

    1. I’m still not entirely sure what “2 sequential stays” means. I understand that if I stay Friday at HI and then Saturday at HIX, that is 2 brands sequentially visited, but it also seems that if I stay Fri at HI, then the following Wed at HIX, that also counts?

    2. I see when this promo ends 5/31/14 to get the nights, but when do the free nights expire? I do want to go back to HK in the next couple of years, but probably not in 2014.

3, I have a 4 night stay in Chicago coming up in 2 weeks. It’s from 10/31-11/4 at the Hotel Indigo. This stay will give me the Big Win 50K points so I don’t want to mess this up, but what are your thoughts on breaking this up into 2 separate stays (2 nights each) for Indigo and then HI or IC? I’ll still satisfy the Big Win and get a free stay in HK out of it. I can’t put my wife through 4 different hotels in 4 nights. Thanks!

    • 1. You earn the free night for every two stays that are at different brands. After each two different brand stays the brands reset. You can do the same two brands again.

      2. You must earn the free nights by December 31, 2013, and use by May 31, 2014.

      3. Correct. You can earn 0, 1, or 2 free China Dream free night awards during those four nights.
