Le Club Accorhotels Iberia Plus Promotion: Double Avios For One Stay Between September 1-October 15

Le Club Accorhotels has a new promotion for Iberia+ members for double Avis for staysΒ (corrected) one stay between September 1 and October 15, 2013, that are booked by September 30.


Note that you need to enable the auto sweep of Le Club Accorhotels points to airline miles and choose Iberia Avios as the partner in order to get the double Avios. There is no need to register for this offer, but you can access Accor’s web page for this offer here.


Iberia sent out an email last night about various offers they have going on with the hotels. This double Avios offer with Le Club Accorhotels is advertised as 100% transfer bonus that is not the case.

According to Accor’s web page, you will only get double Avios for stays one stay and not conversions. It is up to you which version you wish to believe.

The Le Club Accorhotels to Iberia Avios transfer ratio was devalued by 60% on March 1, 2013. You can read more about this change earlier this year here.


This could be a worthwhile offer if you are collecting Iberia Avios. Remember that you can always transfer British Airways Avios, Iberia Avios and Avios Avios between accounts.

    Thanks for letting us know, John.

    I have a stay at the Suite Novotel Marrakech later this month and checked Iberia’s website to find out how many Avios I would receive for a stay there on a normal basis. However, they only say you can get Avios when staying at “ibis, ibis styles, Mercure, Novotel, MGallery, Pullman and Sofitel, among others”. I guess it’s understood that Suite Novotel and Grand Mercure would be there too, but this particular hotel is not listed.

    Any ideas?

    • Suite Novotel is part of Novotel brand and Grand Mercure part Mercure. You will earn the points.

        Thank you, John. The information on Iberia’s website is very vague. Or maybe it’s me, but I haven’t been able to find how many Avios you get for every Accor hotel brand and how many nights you need for the stay to be eligible. Miles & More states it so much clearer.

        • Here’s how you can calculate:

          1. Convert the folio before taxes to EUROS
          2. Then have a look at the table that displays how many points you earn per EUR (could be per 10 Euros). This is bran dependent.
          3. Then add your status bonus + possible additional bonuses.
          4. Then you have to consult the Le Club points to airlines miles table for your chosen airline.

            I see, thank you! I was hoping for something like a minimum 500 Avios per 2-night stay at Novotel, but the base will be like 300. I wonder if it’s worth it to change my account to IB+ (it’s MIles & More right now), and back to IB+ for just a handful more Avios…

          • If you collect Avios, then yes for one stay. You should earn quadruple number of Avios for the stay compared to Miles&More.

    Interested to find out which version is correct as well, as I was about to transfer some Accor points to Iberia.

    • There is nothing on Accor’s website that would indicate 100% transfer bonus. Let me know if you can find it.

        I would also like to know if it possible to transfer and get the bonus! I would transfer some points from TAM to IBERIA.

        The Iberia advert redirects to the Accor one, and indeed, that one does not mention the transfer of points. So it’s reasonable to suppose Iberia made a mistake in their communication.

        Please note I spotted a mistake in your article! The Accor site mentions: ” Earn Avios X2 for your FIRST stay at 2,700 hotels worldwide”. Please note the word first, it seems like the offer is only valid for one stay!

            So…the Iberia explained that we will only get 2X avios for ONE STAY? Does this mean if I book a room for 5 nights straight, I will only get 2X avios for one night? I don’t get it. But how can we know how many avios can we earn for 1 night? Because le club points are earned by how much you spend in total.

            Also, did they mention the contradiction with Le Club?

    I tried to take advantage of this promotion, and stayed at Accor hotel during the period, and had the automatic transfer of points on. I still received the points only 1:1 to Iberia.

    After that I’ve tried to contact Accor and Iberia BOTH three times about this matter. Both blame one another for the promotion not working, and just tell me to contact the other party. They just say “We can’t do anything about it, call Iberia/Accor”.

    I’m totally frustrated, and do not know what to do. I have spent way too many hours on this already. I’m platinum member on Accor but that does not seem to matter anything.

    I’m desperate and about to give up. The amount of points lost is not that markable anyway. Any ideas how to make this work, or should I just give up??

    I would like to contact Iberia to ask how to add Oneword miles and Accor hotel points to my card but I don’t know how to do.
    I called 0034/913742442 but it’s ALWAYS busy and nobody answer….not even a voicemail. What can I do?
