Hilton HHonors Virgin Atlantic Offer: Earn Up To 6,000 Bonus Miles For Three Stays

by -

Hilton HHonors has a bonus offer for Virgin Atlantic Flying Club members for up to 6,000 bonus miles for three stays between October 1 and January 31, 2014.

You earn 1,500 bonus miles on your first stay, 2,000 bonus miles on your second stay and 2,500 bonus miles on your third stay for a total maximum of 6,000 bonus miles.

You need to have Points and Fixed or Variable Miles Double Dip option chosen and have Virgin Atlantic Flying Club as the partner program.

Whether you should choose fixed or variable miles, is dependent of the brand that you are staying at and the eligible folio amount. In general you are better by choosing fixed miles for stays, when the eligible folio amount is less than $500 and variable miles when it is higher. You can read more about Hilton HHonors Double Dip options here.

Remember that you can convert Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles back to Hilton HHonors at 1:2 rate. 6,000 bonus miles would convert to 12,000 Hilton HHonors points.

You need to register for this offer on Hilton’s website here.

Virgin Atlantic is now my default Double Dip partner for one night Hilton stays (used to be BMI). If you have no use for Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles, you can always convert them back to Hilton HHonors points.

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:

To be eligible for this offer, you must (1) be a member of Hilton HHonors; (2) select Virgin Atlantic Airways as your preferred Double Dip® Points & Miles™ Partner in your Hilton HHonors account profile, (3) select Points and Miles as your Double Dip Earning Style within your HHonors profile; (4) register online at www.HHonors.com/FlyingClubBonus prior to completing your stay; and (5) complete an eligible stay at any hotel or resort within the Hilton HHonors portfolio from October 1, 2013 through January 31, 2014 (“Promotional Period”).

Bonus Flying Club miles: Earn 1,500 bonus Flying Club miles on your first stay, 2,000 bonus miles on your second stay and 2,500 bonus miles on your third stay at Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Hilton, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Grand Vacations, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites and Home2Suites. Bonus miles will not be awarded under this offer for any additional stays or for stays completed prior to registration for this offer. A maximum of 6,000 bonus miles will be awarded during this promotional period. A “stay” is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again.

Does this mean you get the base Virgin Atlantic fixed or variable miles plus the bonus miles (1500,2000, 2500) for each stay?

Oh, and what are the conditions for points transfer back to HH. From what I can figure out there is a 1000 mile/point min transfer back to HH and in increments of 1000 miles?

      • You need to convert minimum of 10,000 miles and can then choose any 5,000 mile increment.

    • Absolutely.

When will Virgin Atlantic (VA) bonus points be added to my VA account? Will it be after promotional period is done (Jan. 31) or as each stay is completed? 2nd Question: Once I reach my maximum bonus points for this offer, can I switch settings in Hilton Honors to take advantage of a different promotion? For example, the stay more, earn more points offer that expires Jan. 31?

    • You have to be very careful with these two letter codes for various Virgin affiliated airlines:
      Virgin Atlantic = VS
      Virgin America = VX
      Virgin Australia = VA

The bonus points do post with your stay, but it can take couple of weeks to make it to the airline. You can switch to other airline/promotion once your final stay has posed to your Hilton HHonors account that you want to credit towards this promotion.

Silly question but if I register for this offer will it impact my fast track to gold status from the other offer which only requires 4 stays or will this be fine? Also do you still earn HHonors points?

    • You just need to do the Double Dip with miles and have Virgin Atlantic as the partner airline. It doesn’t affect the Gold fast track at all. You do earn Hilton HHonors points as well.

Thanks for that. Also for the hilton fast track to gold offer I’m confused as my elite tracker is saying only 3 more stays until I renew silver does this not reflect the offer or not?

        • Sometimes it does reflect. As long as you signed up for it, you should be fine. I have never heard anyone having problem with the fast track offer.
