Hilton HHonors just released the list of non-participating properties for the upcoming Triple Your Trip-promotion. You can access my main article about this offer here.

Hilton HHonors Triple Your Trip Non-participating Properties

The list includes 1,362 properties that represent roughly 33.4% of all Hilton family of hotels (4,080 hotels open at the end of 2013).

You can register for this promotion here and access the non-participating property list here.

Here’s the list of non-participating hotels:

I would usually have list of non-participating hotels here on the post, but this one is way too long to include on the body.

Why some hotels are not participating?

Hilton requires individual properties to pay extra to participate to a promotion and some hotels may feel that the business is so strong that it wouldn’t bring in any more business.

You can shift your stays to either participating Hilton properties or to stay elsewhere. You may also want the property to know if you happen to cancel reservations due to non-participating to a chain wide promo.

Conclusion

I have never seen a “global” promo with any of the hotel chains that would have one third of their hotels opted out. Hilton should require hotels to participate or lower the fee charged. Why run a global promo at all when so many hotels have opted out?

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:

The offer (“Triple Your Trip”) is valid for eligible stays completed between August 1 and October 31, 2014 (“Promotion Period”) at any participating hotel or resort in the Hilton Portfolio (click here for hotels who have chosen to not participate). Hilton HHonors™ members must first register at HHonors.com/Triple prior to check-out of your stay within the Promotion Period. Registered HHonors members will receive the bonus only for nights completed during the Promotion Period, regardless of a check-in date before the Promotion Period begins or a check-out date after the Promotion Period ends. For the Triple Your Trip promotion, the Bonus Points you earn per night are calculated based on the average nightly folio of your total stay (average nightly folio is calculated by taking the total net folio of your stay divided by the total number of nights of the stay). Triple Your Trip Double Points are awarded for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights in your stay. Triple Your Trip Triple Points are awarded for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights in your stay. For a detailed explanation of how points are issued for Triple Your Trip, please see Frequently Asked Questions. “Double Points” means you will receive a bonus equal to the number of Base Points earned during a stay. “Triple Points” means you will receive a bonus equal to double the number of Base Points earned during a stay. Bonus Points earned on Base Points do not count toward tier qualification. Please allow six to eight weeks from completion of your stay for points to appear in your HHonors account. Offer is not transferable, is not valid for groups and cannot be combined with other select offers.

It seems as though almost all are in the US ie very few in Asia are excluded and none in Aus/NZ

For years, Hilton properties were my go-to group with properties everywhere, decent on-site benefits for Gold/Diamond, and reasonable redemptions for a week somewhere nice. In a way this is kinda funny: after the massive devaluation, HHonors became irrelevant to me and others. Now it seems like 1/3 of their properties agree. Maybe Hilton should wake up and smell the coffee.

Where did this PDF come from is it’s not on the website? I’m surprised to see no Australian properties on this list as there are some that tend to abstain from all promos like this.

    • The list is already up on Hilton’s website (where we took the list), but seems that it is not available from all locations yet. Hilton must be using some caching.

If I were Hilton, I would scrap this promo and come up with something else this week. Literally 1/3 of their properties opted out and I’m sure 75% of them are not experiencing full bookings for those months. They have to pay to participate and then pay for the points to distribute. I can see their point of view.

John have you heart of anyone booking the double points package ongoing rate and also receive double/triple on top of that offer?

    Seriously, WTF Hilton !?

I’m always amazed at the size of non-participating properties during Hilton promos, the size of the list of US properties is downright comical and completely defeats the purpose of a chain wide promo. Fortunately for me, few international properties in areas I travel are excluded and usually aren’t in other HHonors promos either.

Just switched my reservation for 28 days from Hilton to Marriott for the month of August.
