Now, SPG has launched a new offer for getting SPG Pro Executive Assistant members to book travel for others by giving them up to 8,000 bonus Starpoints for stays consumed between October 15 and December 31, 2014.

Note that it appears from the T&C’s that the key is that the stays that are booked using the SPG Pro account (doesn’t matter when) and the consumption must occur between October 15 and December 31, 2014.

You earn 2,000 bonus Starpoints for every four reservations for up to 8,000 bonus points. So, in essence you get 500 bonus Starpoints per reservation. It is enough that you register by December 31, 2014, for the bonus points to post.

You are not allowed to be your own “Travel Professional”. You can always open an account for your family member that then becomes SPG Pro and books the stays (you merely need to attach the SPG Pro number to your reservation).

Conclusion

I probably should get my brother to become my designated SPG Pro “Executive Assistant” to collect the bonus Starpoints that SPG doles out their way.

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:

Eligibility: Must be an SPG® Pro Executive Assistant with active status to participate in this promotion.

Registration: Members must register online at spg.com/spgprobonus by 11:59 p.m. eastern time (ET) on December 31, 2014. Registered members can earn bonus Starpoints® for bookings made between October 15, 2014, and December 31, 2014 (the “Promotion Period”), at any of the over 1,100 SPG-participating hotels and resorts worldwide.

Earning: Registered members can earn 2,000 bonus Starpoints for every four eligible bookings made on behalf of the member’s colleagues whose stays are between October 15, 2014, and December 31, 2014, at any of the over 1,100 SPG-participating hotels and resorts worldwide. A maximum of 8,000 bonus Starpoints can be earned during the promotion period. All qualified stays during offer period will be counted toward earning bonus Starpoints regardless of promotion registration date.

Bonusing: Bonus Starpoints will post to the registered member’s account within 4–6 weeks after the qualifying stay posts.

Eligible Stays: A completed booking is defined as one made by the SPG Pro Executive Assistant that results in a stay by a corporate traveler other than themselves, with eligible nights that fall within the Promotional Period. An Eligible Rate is defined as one or more consecutive nights paying a qualifying rate that occurs and posts to the member’s SPG account. A qualifying rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the SPG program through SPG Pro membership. A description of SPG-participating hotels and resorts and of Eligible Stays and Eligible Rates can be found at spg.com under Terms & Conditions of the SPG Program. See Section 2.1 for the complete definition of Eligible Rates. Note that certain prepaid room reservations, such as bookings made through an online third-party booking site (including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com, orbitz.com and delta.com) are not considered Eligible Rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify for promotional earnings. Consecutive reservations for this offer will not be honored. A consecutive stay is when checkouts and check-ins occur the same day in the same hotel for the same guest. A minimum stay of one night is required. A maximum of 90 days applies. Not valid for stays booked using wholesale and group rates or via an online third-party booking site. SPG Pro Executive Assistant must enter his/her valid SPG member number to the reservation at the time of booking to qualify to earn bonus Starpoints.
