This Feb 15 start seems to be right after the winter sale period (up to Feb 12)?

    • Yep. missed that. The valid dates are basically over six week from mid-February until the end of March.

  • Kimijacky

This is nice since i will have 2 two-night weekend stays till end of March. Thanks for this information John.

  • karl

is it worth the risk if not targeted?

  • Roddy

The last line of the Terms & Conditions tells me all I need to know …

“This exclusive offer is valid for original recipient only.”

  • Gary Gray

I no longer sign up for anything not targeted. One member of my family had an account frozen in November 2014. She stayed all the requirements and qualified for a hefty intothenights bonus. She signed up for a non-targeted offer, after I directed her to it, and account was suspended promptly. Lost a large number of points in an attempt at getting a 1,000. Terminating (IHG terms it suspending) accounts is alive and well for signing up for promotions one is not targeted for.

On the other hand, my Platinum status was not closed for signing up for bonuses in the past. I, however, ended the practice last year after reading and heeding the warnings.

    • Ry Wong

Anything happened to trigger the suspension? Like sharing credit card/calling Customer Care for missing points etc?

      • Gary Gray

Yes, the trigger was signing up for a 1000 point bonus that she was not targeted. When she (my wife) called IHG to ask why, they told her she had signed up for a promotion that she was not targeted for.

  • Ry Wong

Would get triple rewards as my “set your sights” got a task to stay for certain weekend nights, as well as the the holiday inn express china promotion, but this time since the terms are so clear that the offer is to targeted members only, so have to give up this one.

    • These are all combinable. You can certainly triple dip.

  • Jonathan

This has the feel of a honey pot promo. I will not be signing up since I am not targeted.

  • Traminer

Any suggestions on how I can unregister? Signed up too quick!

    • kimijacky

I emailed IHG and ask if I can remove the registration. Below is the reply.
apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Unfortunately, our
system does not allow us to remove any promotion registration from accounts.
However, please note that the bonus from this offer will not be issued since
the account is not part of the targeted list.”
