Airberlin Topbonus sent an email yesterday award & status miles earning changes for Europe & domestic effective May 5, 2015. Wouldn’t it have been nicer to get this earlier?

Airberlin Topbonus Miles Earnings Pre May 5 2015 Main

Airberlin used to offer minimum number of miles for domestic and Europe flights or more miles depending of the fare class and distance. Now, the number of miles you earn for these flights is fixed per the fare class.

Airberlin is also offering bonus award miles for flights taken between May 5 and July 31, 2015.

Conclusion

The email that they sent out and the new charts on Airberlin’s website are confusing. It seems that Airberlin cut the number of miles earned for lowest fare classes by 50%.

Also, I cannot really figure out what is the change for economy to business class upgrades.
