The bonus BIG Points are in addition to the base points of 500 to 35,000 that you can earn for each night of your stay.

The stay merely need to be booked by December 31, 2015. The actual stay date can be as far out to the future as booking window on Rocketmiles allows.
Instead of having coupon codes or cash back, Rocketmiles gives you miles for booking hotels through their service. I would not book a chain hotel through their service, but wouldn’t mind reserving an independent one.
