Le Club AccorHotels Partner Hotel Earnings (2.5%)

4 Comments

Accor made a decision couple of months back that they will allow third party hotels non-associated with any of their brands on accorhotels.com booking platform.

Le Club AccorHotels Partner Hotels

Accor will surely charge a fee (perhaps 10% to 15%) for bookings made and gives Le Club AccorHotels members 1.25 points per Euro charged.

You can access Le Club AccorHotels page for these partner hotels here.

Why would you stay or book a “partner” hotel on AccorHotels.com when:

  • Le Club AccorHotels points cannot be used to make a booking in a Partner Hotel or to cover expenses in a Partner Hotel;
  • stays in a Partner Hotel do not count as eligible night(s) to achieve higher status in the Le Club AccorHotels program;
  • when staying in a Partner Hotel, the benefits granted at the hotel according to the member’s status in the program are not delivered;
  • the features of the “Places by Le Club AccorHotels” application are not available for a stay in a Partner Hotel;
  • Partner hotels are not eligible for the Meeting Planner offer.

Accor will have three kind of hotels on their booking platform:

  1. Those that are Le Club AccorHotels participating (including partner hotels)
  2. Le Club AccorHotels participating with elite benefits
  3. Non-Le Club AccorHotels participating hotels that include all ibis hotels in China and ibis budget hotels worldwide.

Can you see why consumers might become confused when they are booking on AccorHotels.com?

Conclusion

Accor executive must be thinking that the accorhotels.com booking platform is great that it is definitely not. The booking interface has become extremely cluttered and busy with all kind of signs and logos of which some are animated.

Why would I book a “partner” hotel on AccorHotels.com when I could probably book it on any of the OTA’s with working booking interface, earn loyalty points on OTA’s program far greater than 2.5% that Accor is now offering and maybe throw in a discount coupon as well.

The 2.5% back in Le Club AccorHotels points is exactly HALF of the non-status member earnings at “full” service Accor brands. Platinum members would earn 8.5% back at full service hotels. So, Platinum member earnings are less than one third.

Here are the terms and conditions of the partner program:

Some of the hotels not operated under one of the AccorHotels brand names listed on the website www.accorhotels.com and/or in the AccorHotels mobile app, have chosen to be partners in the Le Club AccorHotels loyalty program. These hotels (referred to hereafter as “Partner Hotels”) are identified on the website www.accorhotels.com and/or on the AccorHotels mobile app.

These general terms and conditions govern the terms in which Le Club AccorHotels program members can earn Le Club AccorHotels points by staying in a Partner Hotel.

Earning Le Club AccorHotels points by staying in a Partner Hotel

Members of the Le Club AccorHotels loyalty program are credited with 1.25 Le Club AccorHotels points for every euro spent on a stay in a Partner Hotel.

The spending eligible for winning points only includes the price of the booking (rooms, package deals, etc.) in a Partner Hotel exclusive of VAT, and excludes any other expense (sales tax, beverages, additional nights, meals or any other services booked on the premises, etc.).

To be eligible for earning points, a booking must be made in a Partner Hotel through the website or the mobile site www.accorhotels.com or through the AccorHotels mobile app. Bookings made by any other method (e.g.: through a travel agency, on-premises, etc.) are not eligible for earning points.

To earn Le Club AccorHotels points, Le Club AccorHotels loyalty program members must enter their membership card number when booking in a Partner Hotel. The name on the membership card must be identical to the name on the booking. The membership card must be valid on the day the member arrives at the Partner Hotel. If requested, members must be able to present their card or disclose their membership card number.

Scope of benefits

For the sake of clarity, a stay in a Partner Hotel does not include any of the Le Club AccorHotels loyalty program benefits other than earning Le Club AccorHotels points, as described in article 1 above.

In particular, contrarily to stays in hotels operated under one of the AccorHotels group brands participating in the Le Club AccorHotels loyalty program:

  • Le Club AccorHotels points cannot be used to make a booking in a Partner Hotel or to cover expenses in a Partner Hotel;
  • stays in a Partner Hotel do not count as eligible night(s) to achieve higher status in the Le Club AccorHotels program;
  • when staying in a Partner Hotel, the benefits granted at the hotel according to the member’s status in the program are not delivered;
  • the features of the “Places by Le Club AccorHotels” application are not available for a stay in a Partner Hotel;
  • Partner hotels are not eligible for the Meeting Planner offer.

Complaints relating to Partner Hotels

If the Le Club AccorHotels points have not been credited to the members within a period of six (6) weeks after their stay in a Partner Hotel, a complaint may be filed by completing the dedicated form available on the website www.accorhotels.com. Members will be invited to explain the reason for their complaint and to attach to the form the invoice evidencing their stay. The form must be submitted within a six (6) month deadline after the check-out.

For the Le Club AccorHotels points to be credited, the invoice sent with the complaint must compulsorily be in the name of the Le Club AccorHotels program member.
