Le Club AccorHotels & IHG Rewards Club Platinum (+ Spire) Members Get Hilton HHonors Diamond Status!

by -

When Hilton HHonors launched its Diamond status match the other week (read more here, here and here), it was unclear what programs they match.

Le Club AccorHotels IHG Rewards Club Platinum Hilton HHonors Diamond Match

It was obvious that Marriott, SPG and Hyatt top tiers would get the Diamond status, but situation with Le Club AccorHotels Platinum and IHG Rewards Club Platinum (+ spire) was not as clear.

You can read more about Hilton HHonors Diamond benefits here.

I have now received emails and messages from several Le Club AccorHotels and IHG Rewards Club Platinum members that Hilton had given them the Diamond status valid until March 2017.

Here’s what you need to get the Hilton HHonors Diamond status:

Here are the status match requirements:

We’re winding down for the Thanksgiving holiday and, as a heads up, I will be out of the office until Monday, but I wanted to let you know about our status match program…

We’ve been receiving a number of requests and yes, we do match status from other programs and we’d love to be your travel home.

  1. We are matching status for 2016. To make sure you’re all set for the year, please submit your request by January 11, 2016. You’ll enjoy that status through March 2017.
  2. All you need is something that shows your elite tier in another program and an HHonors number.
  3. Email us at HHonorMyStatus@hilton.com and we’ll help get you started.

Please note it may take a couple of days to process given the Thanksgiving holiday. We promise to process requests as quickly as possible and any request submitted prior to January 11, 2016, will be processed in time to enjoy your new status for the entire year.

And here what they email you automatically (you don’t have to reply if you included all the info on the original email):

We’re on it! But we may need some more information from you…

We’re excited to honor your status and offer our elite benefits to even more members like you. If you have not already done so, please reply to this email with the following information:

  1. Your Hilton HHonors account number. If you’re not yet a member, you’ll need to sign up first.
  2. Proof of status with another hotel loyalty program. This can be a screenshot of your current account status or your membership card. We accept jpg files, word documents & PDFs.

Please do NOT send us any personal information (including your phone number, address, social security number, date of birth, user name, passwords, or credit card information).

Once your Hilton HHonors elite status has been honored, you’ll have it through March 31, 2017. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S., please allow up to 5 business days for your information to be processed.

We’ll be in touch soon!

The Hilton HHonors Team

It is great to know that Hilton HHonors matches Le Club AccorHotels and IHG Rewards Club Platinum members to their Diamond status. If I wouldn’t be Hilton HHonors Diamond member already, I would jump to this status match opportunity opportunity.

Both Le Club AccorHotels and IHG Rewards Club Platinum members will find out that the benefits at the Hilton HHonors Diamond level are better defined and you don’t have to “fight” for Club lounge access at full service properties.

All of this status matching is good for the punter – but makes a mockery of loyalty schemes.

  • Thomas

I just got the Confirmation E-Mail today. Got Hilton Diamon from Accor Platinum.
At the Hilton Website, i’m still a Blue Member. Does it take a while till it changes to Diamond?

    • David

My confirmation came through Friday (from SPG Platinum) but my account still reads Blue. Seems most accounts switched over simultaneously with status upgrade. Wonder why the delay for Thomas and I? Curious about the Accor Platinum mixed results posted on your previous report on this subject.

    • Shyao Tseng

I’m in the same situation. (Accor Platinum match to Hilton Diamond)
I wrote back a mail to cross check how long it takes to update the info on Website.
If I got any feedback will keep you updated.

    • Shyao Tseng

Here is the respond from them:

“Please give your upgrade 24-48 hours then you can check your account again. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact us. • Thomas

After E-Mailing them again, i got now Diamond Status as Accor Platinum 🙂

      • Shyao Tseng

I’m still waiting for an update 🙁 Still blue at this moment.

  • James Chia

I had just been rejected of the status match to Diamond using my Accor Platinum. Most of my 40 nights at Accor were with Sofitels and Pullmans so they were not cheap stays. Reason for rejection: I was given a status match earlier this year to Hilton Gold. I have heard of people having no stays with Hilton at all but given Diamond with their free Hilton Gold complimentary of their CC. So it is frustrating to believe Hilton does not value my loyalty.

    • Thomas

Just open a new HH Account and try it again 😉

      • James Chia

I thought that would be against Hilton’s T&C?

  • Sergey Fedorov

Sent them Accor Platinum and IHG Gold, got only Hilton Gold 🙁

  • Paul-André Charbonneau

I am really happy! They give me the diamond status to match my Fairmont’s President club platinum card.

  • Future EX Hilton Diamond

Thanks Hilton. I spend $1,000’s re-qualifying for Diamond and you GIVE IT AWAY (No stay requirement) to some people who if clever (Accor Platinum) may have achieved their Platinum status for HUNDREDS of dollars. I needed one last reason to dump Hilton and go somewhere I’m valued, this is it.

    • Harry Webb

      Nunga nunga.

    • Robert

or got the IHG platinum status from a $150 a year credit card(here in UK). It is a little unfair on those who earned it, I agree… I can’t turn down a good status match though.

Future ex Hilton don’t hate the players hate the game. I earned status by stays some years and other years by my credit card status. Get the card and join the rest but don’t hate the game join it.

  • Alex

    Hi, John!
I am a Le Club Platinum member. I tried to apply for HH Diamonds.
However, I have got rejected by Sandra O. The reason is that: “Le Club Accor is not participating in the tier promotion offer you are requesting.”
Is it because I had submitted my HH Blue membership?
Is there anything that I can do to get HH Diamond? Please advise. Thank you.

  • Ramitran

Thanks! Great news. So it might be better to decline the offered Hyatt status match to mere platinum which is basically useless. Might even hinder future status matches with Hyatt.

  • flyoff

Both my wife and I were rejected with Accor Plat. Reason given was the right info was not submitted – untrue. They appear to be rescinding the initial offer – it looked like this might happen as no T&C were issued. My view of HHilton has become more negative. If I was Hilton this would concern me as it is the opposite of what they (should have) intended

Retry retry retry someone will give it to you

  • Manxie

Well, a happy surprise for me in that I was upped to Diamond in recognition of my Best Western diamond status. Anyone else accepted this way?

    • joske

yes, worked for me as well

I got it two but only on the second request. First one said no, then another rep in the mail said Yes, enjoy like we will

      • Manxie

Agree that it does depend on which agent screens your request. A friend of mine is most annoyed I got status and he didnt, with same credentials

  • Ridoncularious

Beautiful. Got notice yesterday of the Diamond upgrade. Had submitted Accor and Fairmont Platinum info.

Still no feedback from Hyatt which was submitted before the Hilton request.

  • Chadontheroad

I got my HH Diamond yesterday from IHG Spire. Waited about a week. All I did was send an email with a picture of my spire card. HH Diamond good until 2017. Does anyone know if we can parlay this into Hyatt Diamond? I got send a Hyatt Platinum offer in my Spire match request to them. Anybody have any luck?

    • tareq

you send the email to this (HHonorMyStatus@hilton.com) !!

i have a IHG platinum so what should i send and to ho !!

      can aanybady help me pleases

  • Kurniawan

I got the status match to Diamond HHonors by sending my Accor Plus Platinum membership

  • Christopher Mac Holland

As a loyal Hilton customer who properly achieved Diamond this year – I find this hard to swallow that it’s handed out like sweets when I spent c£5k with them in 2015. I accept they want to develop their business, but it devalues the existing elite customer base and benefits offered.

    • Manxie

Would agree with you, were I to have your historical earned status. Same way that IHG diluted my IHG platinum status by granting many others equal match

  • Artyom Vasilenko

I have a Platinum status with Accor, and I didn’t work for me as I was challenged:

“As you have reached the highest achievable level of membership with one of our hotel competitors, we are happy to extend a special one-time offer to fast track to Diamond tier level. If within the next 90 days, from today’s date, you record 21 eligible nights at any participating HHonors hotel, your account will be automatically upgraded to the Diamond tier status through March 31, 2017.”

21 nights in 3 months doesn’t seem reasonable to me. I had 45 nights with Accor in last 12 months, and am happy to stick to it. So not this time Hilton.

Artyom resend another request like I did with Best Western. They said no like yours but two days later I resent it and they gave it to me. Potom drug

  • Peter

“we are currently not offering to match tier status for Accor
hotels, after carefully reviewing your account and given your loyalty, I
am happy to upgrade your account to our elite Diamond Tier expiring in
    Mar 2017.”

I got Diamond ,I only had 8 nights with Accor, I think they would reject me, good luck ! Thank you John

  • Kyushuman

Based on the inconsistent replies here, I wasn’t optimistic about getting Hilton Diamond from my Accor Platinum. I mentioned in my request that I do use Accor a lot in Brazil, France, and Hungary (true) and so am curious to try out more Hiltons. I was granted Hilton Diamond through March 2017! Thanks so much John for posting this!

  • Jimmy

I also got the confirmation to get Diamond status from HHonor yesterday. I’m the member of Accor P and IHG PA.

  • Ramitran

Also got matched to Diamond from Accor Platinum. Quick response and nice service. Already looking forward to stay at Hiltons.

  • Mike

No stays at Hilton, sent them Best Western Diamond and Club Carlson Gold, got only Hilton Gold.

  • joske

I sent them Best Western diamond and got HH diamond one day later 🙂 thank you so much for this post John!

    • Patrick S

      Please confirm ….
Best Western Diamond has been matched to HHonors Diamond?

      • Chris

        Hmm…hard to believe

        • Patrick S

I now can confirm it by myself 🙂
