Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) has launched a new SPG Pro promotion called City Explorer targeted at SPG Pro Executive Assistants.
SPG Pro Executive Assistants that book on behalf of others can earn 500 bonus points per stay and 1,000 bonus points per each new city for stays both consumed and booked January 1 – June 30, 2016.

Here’s how the bonuses stack:
You can earn up to 10,000 bonus points based on the number of stays that you book (max 20) and 10,000 for the different visited cities (10 cities) for maximum of 20,000 bonus points for the promotional period.
I wish that SPG has had this as their general promotion for the first quarter instead of the Take Two (read more here). Would have been better option for me and for many others.

Q: Can anyone register for this promotion?
A: Any active-status SPG® Pro Executive Assistant can register for the promotion at spg.com/cityexplorer. The SPG Pro member must have accepted the terms and conditions of the programme to be eligible for the promotion.

Q: When can I register for the promotion?
A: SPG Pro Executive Assistants can register from 1 January 2016 until 30 June 2016 at 11:59pm Eastern Time (ET), referred to as the “Registration Period.”
Q: What are eligible bookings for this promo?
A: Eligible bookings are SPG Pro Executive Assistant bookings that are booked and consumed at an SPG-participating or partner hotel with an arrival date from 1 January 2016 until 30 June 2016 (the “Promotion Period”). The booking must be correctly tagged with your SPG Pro member number. Check the terms and conditions of the SPG programme, which can be found here, for full details on eligible rates.
Q: How many bonus Starpoints® can I earn?
A: A member can earn a maximum of twenty (20) 500 Starpoint bonuses — one for each qualifying booking. A member can also earn a maximum of ten (10) 1,000 Starpoint bonuses — one for each qualifying booking in a unique town/city. Each town/city is based on the hotel or resort’s official address on record. A total of 20,000 bonus Starpoints can be earned in this promotion.
Q: When will my bonus Starpoints be posted to my account?
A: Bonus Starpoints will be posted within two to four weeks of the qualifying bookings being consumed and posting to your account.
Q: What is considered a unique town or city for the purpose of the promotion?
A: For this promotion, a unique town or city is defined by the city on record in each hotel or resort’s official address. For example, if a member books The Westin Bund Center, Shanghai and Le Royal Méridien Shanghai, the member would receive one 1,000-Starpoint bonus because the member booked one unique location (Shanghai). If the member books The Westin Bund Center, Shanghai and The St. Regis Beijing, the member would receive two 1,000-Starpoint bonuses because the member booked two unique locations (Shanghai and Beijing). Each eligible booking receives the 500-Starpoint bonus regardless.

Q: I didn’t register for the promotion until 10 February 2016. I had two qualified bookings arrive on 23 January 2016. Will those bookings count towards the promotion?
A: You may register for the promotion any time before 11:59pm Eastern Time (ET) on 30 June 2016. As long as your bookings have your correct SPG Pro member number attached to them at time of booking and are otherwise eligible, you will receive the bonus for all bookings arriving from 1 January 2016 until 30 June 2016. If you registered for the promotion on 10 February 2016, your two qualified bookings arriving on 23 January 2016 would be eligible towards the promotion.
Q: How do I make sure I receive Starpoints and the booking counts towards the promotion when I book?
A: When making a booking through spg.com, enter your SPG Pro member number in the SPG Pro/booker field. When calling a property directly or making a reservation through a Starwood Customer Contact Centre, give them your SPG Pro member number to record on the reservation.
Q: I forgot to add my member number when I made the booking, can I still get Starpoints and earn credit for the booking towards this promotion?
A: SPG Pro requires that the member number is included at the time of booking; the member number cannot be added after the booking has been made.
Q: My colleague forwarded the promotion details to me. I don’t currently belong to SPG Pro. Can I enrol now and also register for the promotion?
A: If you are an Executive Assistant and believe you qualify for SPG Pro as an Executive Assistant, please contact a Starwood Sales Associate to enrol. Once approved, you can register for the promotion at spg.com/cityexplorer.
Q: Will my personal bookings — where I stayed in the room — count towards the SPG Pro City Explorer promotion?
A: No. As an SPG Pro Executive Assistant, only the member’s bookings made on behalf of other travellers count towards the promotion.
Q: Will eligible bookings made prior to registration count towards my earnings?
A: Yes. As long as the member registers by 30 June 2016 at 11:59pm Eastern Time (ET), any eligible paid booking with arrival dates from 1 January 2016 until 30 June 2016 will be deemed eligible for the promotion.
Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:
Eligibility: Must be an SPG® Pro Executive Assistant with active status to participate in this promotion.
Registration: Members must register online at spg.com/cityexplorer by 11:59pm Eastern Time (ET) on 30 June 2016. Registered members can earn bonus Starpoints® for eligible bookings that are consumed from 1 January 2016 until 30 June 2016 (the “Promotion Period”) at any of the more than 1,200 SPG-participating hotels and resorts worldwide.
Earning: Registered members can earn 500 bonus Starpoints for every eligible booking made on behalf of the member’s colleagues and travellers whose stays are from 1 January 2016 until 30 June 2016 at any of the more than 1,200 SPG-participating hotels and resorts worldwide. A maximum of 10,000 bonus Starpoints for 20 eligible bookings can be earned during the Promotion Period.
City Bonus: Registered members can also earn 1,000 bonus Starpoints for each eligible booking consumed in a unique town/city. A maximum of 10,000 additional bonus Starpoints for 10 eligible bookings made at unique towns/cities can be earned during the Promotion Period.
All qualified completed bookings during the Promotion Period will be counted towards earning bonus Starpoints, regardless of promotion registration date. Bookings made prior to the Promotion Period are eligible, but only eligible bookings consumed during the Promotion Period will count towards the promotion earnings.
Bonusing: Bonus Starpoints will post to the registered member’s account within two to four weeks of the qualifying transaction posting to the SPG Pro member’s account.
Eligible Stays: A completed booking is defined as made by the SPG Pro Executive Assistant that results in a consumed and paid-for stay by a corporate traveller other than himself or herself, with eligible nights that fall within the Promotion Period. A qualifying rate is any rate for which an SPG Pro Executive Assistant is eligible to earn SPG Pro benefits. Descriptions of SPG-participating hotels and resorts and of Eligible Stays and Eligible Rates can be found at spg.com under Terms & Conditions of the SPG Programme. See Section 10.2 for the complete eligibility rules for earning as an SPG Pro Executive Assistant. Consecutive reservations for this offer will not be honored. A consecutive stay is when checkouts and check-ins occur the same day in the same hotel for the same guest. A minimum stay of one night is required. A maximum of 90 days applies.
