KLM & Air France Credit Card Payment Fee Change Netherlands

A LoyaltyLobby reader forwarded me an email that he had received from KLM regarding credit card fee changes for tickets issued in Netherlands.

KLM Credit Card Fees

Those that book KLM and Air France tickets on KLM’s Netherlands website must pay 1.75% fee of the total price or maximum of 20 euros.

Note that these fees may vary from various country sites and there can be ways perhaps to avoid them altogether by booking using OTAs that don’t charge booking fees.

Conclusion

Thee fee is now per purchase and not per ticket issued. You should compare various country sites and OTAs to find out one with no fees altogether such as Air France French website.

I recently issued a business class return ticket on TAP from Brazil to Europe and had to pay a fee for using credit card. The credit card surcharge was 18 euros. Some of these airlines make it difficult to deal with them.
