Starwood Preferred Guest SPG Corporate Preferred

There is also something called Corporate Preferred that comes with enhanced room and guaranteed 4PM check out at all other properties besides those designated as resorts or conference ones.

You can sign up for the SPG Corporate Benefit here.

Here are the benefits of the Corporate Preferred:

An enhanced room at check-in¹

4 p.m. late checkout²

and the small print:

¹ Subject to availability for the length of the stay, provided the room was not booked through a prepaid, third-party channel, including priceline.com, expedia.com, booking.com, orbitz.com, elong.com and delta.com. Enhanced rooms are rooms on higher floors, corner rooms, newly renovated rooms and rooms with preferred views. Enhanced rooms do not include suites. Not offered at AloftSM and ElementSM hotels.
² Based on local hotel time. Subject to availability only at resorts and conference center hotels.

Conclusion

There is not harm done by signing up for Corporate Preferred if you occasionally stay at Starwood properties, but not enough to get any status with them. You don’t have to book the rates associated with the company you sign up (no idea to whom this SET even belongs to).

I tried to link it to my existing account. It does not seem to take it. You can set any (valid) SET into the URL, but it does not work for me.

    • I didn’t try to sign up because my account is PLT anyway. Did verify that the whatever SET number was attached to this web page was valid, however.

I think it is ok now. I did already have a SET within my account and it now shows corporate preferred guest. I did not notice that before so It might also have been the support request I sent to SPG that did the trick here.

We also get this option with our SET. What’s even better though that we also get a fast track to Platinum that requires just 18 nights in a calendar year, which is quite fantastic. Sorry can’t post the link to the fast track, but it requires entry of our personnel number anyways.

I’ve just completed this and all seemed to be successful, however my status is reflected as “Preferred Guest Plus”? Is this correct or should it be Corporate Preferred?

Which has better benefits? “Corporate Prefered Guest” or “Preferred Guest Plus”?
