IHG Rewards Club launched Advisory Panel last year when they sent out millions of emails to members (some had never set their foot to IHG properties) to get people sign up (most were not accepted).
Now, IHG Rewards Club is apparently considering to launch lifetime Platinum status based on an email that LoyaltyLobby reader sent me.
You can access IHG Rewards Club home page for status levels here.
Here’s the screenshot that I received:
IHG Rewards Club has probed some of these options on their previous surveys.
Who would care about personal Spire Elite Concierge Line that would connect to the same IHG phone bank in the Philippines?
Memorable Moments? Doesn’t that sound like SPG Moments where Starwood auctions or sells for Starpoints unique evens that sometimes happen at their properties.
Rewards Club Badges? LOL! Who cares about badges on your account? Marriott launched similar initiative couple of years back and awards something like 100 points for reaching 500 nights.
What caught my eye, however, was the option for lifetime IHG Rewards Club Platinum status.
Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and Starwood all offer lifetime status after certain number of nights or money spend.
Their offer, however, is for the top tier that in IHG Rewards Club case would be either Spire Elite or Royal Ambassador for those staying at InterContinental hotels. IHG Rewards Club here only probes interest for lifetime Platinum status that just doesn’t cut it.
Let’s hope that they juice up the offer before launching it.
