My personal quest of getting InterContinental Royal Ambassador portfolio delivered after requalifying back in September 2015 is now finally over!
IHG Rewards Club has had great difficulties getting the Ambassador and Royal Ambassador portfolios delivered (that I have extensively covered here on LoyaltyLobby) starting with having incorrect phone number printed on the back of the card (went to a sex chat line) to claiming issues with the company fulfilling the delivery and printing these.
You can access InterContinental Ambassador web page here.
You can make the free weekend night booking even if you haven’t received the package (read more here), Ambassador service can email the voucher to the hotel when the package is delayed (read more here) and you can get some points for the delay as well (read more here).
Well. Nothing has really changed besides the card. You still the the free weekend night voucher, luggage tags, leaflet and a letter
The letter comes with the bonus points code (from 5,000 to 15,000 points depending on your luck) that you can deposit to an account of your choice (good way to keep family member account from expiring due to nonactivity).
The letter also has a new name for the person running the Ambassador program. Remember that the IHG emails are in the form of firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to get hold of the right program.
Royal Ambassador kit request:
I contacted the Ambassador service center again in early July and the person replying back to me on July 10, 2016, promised to expedite it. She was no longer spinning the line that they weren’t ready.
Thank you for taking the time to contact the InterContinental Ambassador Service Center.
Foremost, We apologize for the inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
We are pleased to inform you that we have arranged an expedited delivery of your Ambassador portfolio and will be delivered at the address provided approximately within fourteen business days.
Please make sure that someone will be available to sign the parcel, as it will be sent via UPS.
Then there was this weird line on my IHG Rewards Club account that matches with the date on the letter received:
Nothing has really changed in the InterContinental Royal Ambassador portfolio that could explain the delay sending these out. Nothing.
Let’s hope that they have got all these out that I don’t believe is the case. I wouldn’t have received mine unless I contacted the Ambassador service center yet again.
Interesting to see how smooth the requalification this year is in light on the changed qualification criteria (read more here), although it is unclear when it is going to be implemented.
