Etihad Airways Up To 130,000 Guest Miles For Club Membership

Today, I received an email offer from Etihad Airways that was about the weirdest that any travel provider has ever sent me and even more so considering that you officially need an alcohol license to consume adult beverages in UAE.

Etihad Guest 130000 Bonus Miles

Etihad Airways was pushing a Club membership that doles out 80,000 or 130,000 Guest miles for their yearly premium memberships.

You can access this offer using Etihad’s link here.

Here’s what they are selling:

Etihad Guest 130000 Bonus Miles Table U

If you purchase the Premium Private membership for 159 euros/month you are paying (159*12/80000) 2.4 euro cents per Etihad Guest mile. The price of an Etihad Guest mile is 2.3 euro cents (249*12/130000) for the Premium Partners membership.

Conclusion

I have no idea if these other benefits besides Etihad Guest miles offer any value. Seems that this is a rather new venture as they claim to have 1000+ members. They get the money upfront and the miles should post within 30 days after the promotion ends (August 31, 2016).

You can book premium cabin Etihad awards usually for less using American Airlines AAdvantage miles that you can also buy for cheaper during the frequent sales.

I am not quite sure why Etihad thought that sending this campaign would make sense for their members?
