A LoyaltyLobby reader forwarded me an offer from IHG Rewards Club that I haven’t seen previously.

The targeted member that is about to have a birthday is eligible for 3,000 bonus points for a two night weekend stay by January 10, 2017.

Conclusion

All these “targeted” offers used to be open for all IHG Rewards Club members as long as they account was registered in the right region. This is no longer the case, however. There is no harm though to check if your account is eligible for this one.

Here are the terms and conditions:

Must be an IHG® Rewards Club member and must register member number in advance to participate in this promotion. Bonus points will be awarded after your next qualifying weekend stay (Friday and Saturday, or Saturday and Sunday nights, two consecutive nights total), which must be completed by 10/01/17 at any InterContinental® , Crowne Plaza® , Hotel Indigo® , Holiday Inn® , Holiday Inn Express® , Staybridge Suites® , Candlewood Suites® , EVEN® or HUALUXE® hotel worldwide. A stay is qualified when paying qualifying rates, which include most business and leisure rates. Only one room per member per stay will be awarded the applicable bonus points or miles. Allow 4-6 weeks from stay for bonus points to be posted to your account. IHG Rewards Club members who have chosen miles as their earning preference will be awarded points.     My birthday was last Monday and I haven’t received such an e-mail. I guess they must be targeting infrequent guests, not Spires.

      Talking about infrequent guests that’s exactly what I am and my hundreds of colleagues. IHG still suspending accounts, interrogations like the Stasi and sheer incompetence of points from other affiliates not registering. A complete disgrace beyond words. Perhaps you should do an update on this and their despicable behaviour as I or my corporate clients will NEVER use IHG!!
