Yesterday, Le Club AccorHotels started a promotion where Fairmont Gold & Platinum members are eligible for an upgrade and/or breakfast voucher (turned out to be open for all – go and collect your vouchers) that you can read more here.
Today, Fairmont President’s Club sent out an email to their Platinum members (myself included) that they were extending Le Club AccorHotels Platinum status for them.
Accor purchased FRHI that consisted of Fairmont, Swissotel and Raffles brands earlier this year. These hotels are already available for booking on Accor’s website but there are no benefits extended to Le Club AccorHotels members including ZERO points.

When I saw the promotional code and the landing page, those instant Le Club AccorHotels matches came to my mind that ended back in 2013.
This is good news for those that prefer the Fairmont President’s Club program over Le Club AccorHotels. It will stay around at least until 2018.
Also, now Fairmont President’s Club Platinum members will get Le Club AccorHotels Platinum that vastly expands the hotel portfolio where they get elite status.
Seems that having merely the promotional code in the sign up form doesn’t work (like it has worked in the past). There appears to be long “key” on the URL that is needed to process the match and it is one time only. You can, however, change the name during the match.
