IHG Rewards Club has launched a double points offer for corporate travelers that use their negotiated rate for stays in Asia-Pacific, Middle East & Africa.

The offer requires Accelerate registration and is valid for stays between January 1 – April 15, 2017. The offer excludes Greater China properties (China + Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan).

Note that this promotion likely applies to those that have their IHG Rewards Club account address in one of the participating countries. It is unclear if this promotion is valid at all or only using select corporate rates.

Conclusion

IHG Rewards Club has had similar promotions in the past for corporate travelers in the same area. Good that this offer is combinable with the current Accelerate offer.

Must be a IHG® Rewards Club member and must register member number in advance to participate in this Offer (“Registration”). 20 points per $US1 spent (“Double Points”) will be awarded on any room rate and non-room spend with any Qualifying Stay that has been booked at the required preferred negotiated corporate rate and consumed by the member between 1 January 2017 and 15 April 2017 (both dates inclusive) at any InterContinental®, Crowne Plaza®, Hotel Indigo®, Holiday Inn®, Holiday Inn Express®, Staybridge Suites® hotels in Asia Pacific (excluding China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), Middle East and Africa. Non-room spend must be charged to your room to be settled at point of check-out and can include charges on food and beverage, room service, laundry, telephone but will not include expenses incurred with any third party that is not hotel-managed like, Spa, other restaurant concessionaires. Points will not be awarded for meeting and banquet charges, Business Centre services or any other facilities that are not managed by hotel. A Stay is defined per IHG® Rewards Club Membership Terms and Conditions as one night or consecutive nights at the same hotel, regardless of frequency of check-in/out (“Stay”). For purpose of this Offer under this Promotion a Stay constitutes a “Qualifying Stay” under the negotiated corporate rate. This Offer cannot be combined with any other offer or promotion unless otherwise stated. Only one room per member per stay at participating hotels will be awarded the applicable bonus. No retroactive bonus points or miles will be awarded for nights prior to Registration. This Offer is subject to the General Promotion Terms and standard IHG Rewards Club Membership Terms and Conditions and earning structure, which can be obtained by visiting http://www.ihgrewardsclub.com. This exclusive Offer is valid and applies to the original recipient only. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for bonus points to be posted onto your account.     This is what the website says:

    “Simply register for Accelerate and earn double points STARTING WITH YOUR SECOND STAY on your negotiated corporate rate, spend on hotel dining and incidentals when you charge them to your room.”

    Pressing the “Register Now” button took me straight to my Accelerate dashboard, so separate registration is not needed / possible.

    • The T&Cs state: “This exclusive Offer is valid and applies to the original recipient only”. They often have this on offers that are definitely not targeted.

    Did others get IHG Points from 2016 advent calendar? No extra points posted in my account even though did do it nearly every day (did miss some). There was a mention in T&Cs that you need to do it 5 days in a row so might have missed some points but not likely to miss all of em.

    • I would wait until the end of the month and then contact customer service if the points haven’t posted.
