Club Carlson has been offering Gold and Concierge members the Weekend Extend offer for stays in Europe, Middle East & Africa.

Club Carlson 2-4-1 4-4-2

Members could get second weekend night free or two weekend nights free when booking four nights. Both of these offers have now been discontinued.

You can access the second night free offer here and the two free night offer here.

This rate plan has been available for years for elite member stays in the Europe, Middle East & Africa. Not sure why Club Carlson has decided to end it abruptly without giving any advance notice to its members.

Conclusion

This has been a great plan for stays in the area when it has been available. Members also (mostly) received night credit for the entire stay even when paying for one or two nights while staying for two or four.

Not sure if Club Carlson is planning to offer additional benefits for elite members? I have requested more information.

So farewell, Club Carlson. This was literally the only reason for me bothering with them.

Having Gold in CC is pointless without the 2-for-1 and 4-for-2 deals. I think this will come back to bite them as an awful lot of people must be thinking the same way I do.

      Totally. 100%. Bye, CC…

    • Agree 100%. They are far from my favourite hotel chain and the only reason they got the business they did from us is because the 4-for-2 made their often mediocre and inconsistent hotels bearable. Goodbye Carlson.

What benefits are left for being CC Gold? Wow what a HUGE devaluation of a allready devalued program

  • Boobaholic

This was the benefit I liked & used the most.
Without it CC are going to have to pull something amazing out of the bag to entice me to use them over rivals I also have status with.
This is a big shame to me and will see them genuinely lose my business.
Their properties are not special enough to stand up against the competition without a perk like this I’m afraid.
I think this could see the brand suffer.
I have Rezidor shares which are showing a decent enough profit. I would have held them but think this will hurt them. I’m taking my money & running.

Very dissapointed. I used it a lot. Doesn’t make any sense to have anything more than Silver. Last year I had Concierge. Basically the only difference to Gold is more points and free breakfast. However many hotels offer only BF inclusive prices, so really not much benefit. Now even Gold doesn’t make sense. So CC I am down from 75 nights 2015 to 40 in 2016 and 15 in 2017.

I just got status matched and planned to do stays on the 2-for-1 and 4-for-2 deals and now this . I see them losing a lot of business . Definitely my family business .

The 2-for-1 and 4-for-2 rate was the primary reason I continued to pay the annual fee for the Club Carlson Visa card with US Bank. Without this benefit, is it really worth paying $75 each year for 40,000 Club Carlson points? Possibly not. 70,000 points gets you one night in London, Edinburgh or a handful of other high-priced cities, but I don’t necessarily visit those cities every other year. If they don’t re-instate this rate, I hope they offer something new for Gold members. Suggestions for Gold: 3-for-2 rate, plus increased access to points + cash nightly rates.
