Hilton Honors has generous Gold & Diamond status match program that grants status first for 90 days during which the member must complete set number of stays to extend the status through March 2019.
Some members did the match earlier and had their status until March 2018. Seems that Hilton Honors may be willing to extend that status to March 2019 per the new expiry date (perhaps not for all).
Here’s the email from the reader:
I was already status matched for diamond through March ’18.I submitted the first status match promo you listed that didn’t say ’19 on graphic, but mentioned in the content. I submitted it (IHG Spire proof) thinking I was applying through 2019.
Well, it wasn’t – they gave me a status match through March of ’18 which I already had. I called Hilton Honors, and there was a lot of courteous confusion, but in the end, they sent me this letter. So I’m happy to say I’m now diamond through March ’19.
LL readers may just need to be aware that if they’re already Diamond, it may cause confusion if they re-submit for another extension, etc.
Here’s the reply from Hilton:
Thank you for your request regarding extending your Diamond Tier Level.
This is to inform you that we extended your Diamond tier through March of 2019. Please allow 3-4 weeks to receive your new card in the mail.
Should you have any additional questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your continued loyalty to Hilton and the Hilton Honors program.
Have a fantastic Friday!
Not sure if this status match was originally a mistake from Hilton Honors part, as the reader already was matched through March 2018, or if they really allow matching while still having the status.
Quite a few readers have asked this very same question and appears that it might be working for some. Never hurts to try and see what they stay.
