Bloomberg: “U.S. Airport Pat-Downs Are About to Get More Invasive”

by -

Bloomberg was reporting today that air travelers in the US are better to get ready for more comprehensive pat downs that include intensive intimate contact with the TSA officers.

Until now, there have been various degrees of pat downs but TSA has now decided to have only one method used nationwide. The video above is from rather aggressive pat-down done for a CNN commentator.

You can access the Bloomberg article here of which below is an excerpt:

The new physical touching—for those selected to have a pat-down—will be be what the federal agency officially describes as a more “comprehensive” physical screening, according to a Transportation Security Administration spokesman.

“I would say people who in the past would have gotten a pat-down that wasn’t involved will notice that the [new] pat-down is more involved,” TSA spokesman Bruce Anderson said Friday. The shift from the previous, risk-based assessment on which pat-down procedure an officer should apply was phased in over the past two weeks after tests at smaller airports, he said.

I am really getting tired of airport security (theater), although it is a delicate task trying to balance the public safety, smooth operations and individual rights.

There must be better way to handle these “pat-downs” than making them even more invasive. Have been on the receiving end several times this past week when flying internationally.

I got one in Amsterdam at the gate when flying home and the security person did a standard pat-down (similar to law enforcement) using the front of his hand. The whole back of the hand that the TSA did was kinda lame…other countries just gave you a thorough check. Do we actually know how this will be more enhanced/intrusive???

I am glad that TSA is starting to get serious about their job. It is for all flyers and airline crews security. I have been searched by TSA many times, and for every one of them, there were places not searched where I could have hidden a weapon.

yes! Grab that pussy! Trump is numero uno!

Let’s see if you’re still “glad” when you’ve got that finger in your butt… because you could have easily hidden a weapon there.

Do you REALLY think they’ll stick a finger in your butt? Have they ever? I mean if you’re used to things being there and enjoy it that’s okay. Grow up.

Yes they do check bum holes

Youre over exaggerating at best but I think you’re just a whiner. Take the train with that other bum will you.

Im civilised, I fly first and I will sue if i am touched like that. It is clearly sexual harassment.

Please try to read my comment again and you might understand it 🙂 I was just making clear how ridiculous Robert Frank’s comment about “being glad tsa finally doing their job” was. There will always be places that will not and should not be searched in a normal procedure. Grabbing a woman’s breast or private parts “because there could be a hidden weapon there” is as intolerable as sticking a finger up someone’s bum.

  • superduper
