Fare construction example for those interested in using a travel agent to book it:

Mileage Accrual

At 5 miles per dollar, this fare will give you 1315 miles on American Airlines. For most of One World carriers, this fare will credit 25% of flown miles (1170 miles). Exceptions are LATAM (no accrual), and Finnair and Etihad with 100% accrual (4680 miles).

Great fare for a weekend escapade. Just in time to open the summer season!

What does this rule mean in practice?

Transfer restrictions: Two transfers permitted in each direction.

    • It means you can connect through max 2 airports on each direction (e.g. BOS-DCA-MIA-SXM would be a valid routing under fare construction rules)

  • alwaysflying

Under Fare Details it was noted that that this fare is valid for One Way Travel, but in the fare construction example, the fare also included the SXM-BOS return flight.

Regarding AA miles accrual in Korean Airlines’ SKYPASS programme…on the Korean Airlines website, it stated that only AA’s ICN-DFW flights are eligible for mileage accrual, no other AA routings.

    • The same fare under the same rules also apply for the return flight. The one way travel validity only indicates that you don’t need to buy a round trip ticket to get this pricing. A one way should be priced as half the cost of (for example) the round trip example I used.
