It’s another Fabulous Friday, and as always, we identify positive features within the hospitality & travel industry in this series; this week: special amenities with a seasonal touch at various hotels.
I’ve visited the Hilton Hotel Narita Airport in Japan a few times this month, and they always have a welcome gift in the spirit of Sakura Season ready in my room.
The cherry blossom (Sakura) is a very special time in Japan and one of the most popular travel seasons of the year.
Hotels including the Hilton Narita try to pay tribute to this event by presenting their guests (at least in the upgraded Deluxe Rooms) with these special welcome gifts.
It’s essentially a Japanese snack which is wrapped in a beautiful Sakura style tissue that you can keep with you for other purposes (such as using it as a real tissue).
I remember the Hilton doing this for at least the past two years, and other hotels around the world do have gifts for their guests as well when it comes to special seasons such as Christmas or Chinese New Year.
It’s a nice touch to show appreciation for the guest and also a welcome, colorful break from the monotony of the average hotel guest room for the frequent traveler.
