Hyatt Gold Passport has just launched a new campaign for buying up to 55,000 points and getting a 30% bonus that ends on May 23, 2017.
Hyatt Gold Passport usually has several promotions for buying points throughout the year but they usually max out at a 40% bonus.
You can access this offer and check your bonus on Hyatt’s website here.
The price at 30% bonus:
The price of a Hyatt Gold Passport point purchased under this offer is 1.85 cents each.
Does it make sense to purchase points?
Only if you use them at very expensive Hyatt properties such as the Park Hyatt Maldives or Paris. This could be, however, a way to acquire them to be used on Cash + Points awards.
Award rooms with Hyatt are available as long as standard rooms are available for sale. This means that points are usually good value if there is something going on in the city that brings the paid rates throughout the roof.
Hyatt Gold Passport has several promotions throughout the year for buying points but they always max at 40%. I would take a pass on this offer unless you have good use of points right now in a reasonable way.
