Today’s Airfare of the Day goes to British Airways and their Kids Fly Free promo on selected routes throughout the summer.

You can access this offer here.

British Airways is currently running this promo targeting families during the school summer holidays.

Under the promotion terms and conditions, any adult (aged 18 or over) can include up to two children (aged 12 or under) to their reservation for free (meaning zero base fare, taxes and surcharges).

This promo is valid for travel on direct, one way or return flights in economy to/from London Heathrow (LHR) and Leeds Bradford (LBA), Newcastle (NCL), Inverness (INV), Edinburgh (EDI), and Belfast (BHD) in the United Kingdom, or Billund, Denmark (BLL).

Flights must be booked between 10 MAY and 1 OCT 2017 for travel between 1 JUN and 31 OCT 2017. There are no minimum or maximum stay periods as long as all segments booked fall within the promotional dates.

Blackout periods: for the Inverness (INV) route, 1 JUL – 5 SEP 2017 and 1 – 15 OCT 2017; and for the Edinburgh (EDI) route, 24 JUN -30 JUL 2017 and 13-23 OCT 2017.

This promo is complemented with some other family-oriented offers: free kids’ travel on the Heathrow Express between Heathrow and Paddington, kids eat free deals at Huxleys and Giraffe (exclusive offer for British Airways customers at London Heathrow Terminal 5), plus kids-stay-free offers at selected Hilton Hotels (including Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Belfast).

This offer is only available through BA.com. Here there is a booking example:

Per reports on FlyerTalk, on previous editions of this promo, the kids’ free fare earned Avios and tier point on British Airways Executive Club.

Conclusion

British Airways is willing to show some competition to low cost carriers targeting families during the school summer break. The inclusion of Billund (Denmark) on the destinations is not casual, the original Legoland theme park is located there, and since the movies this park is quite a scene!
