You must have your Hilton Honors earning preference set to Points & Miles and have the preferred partner set to British Airways Executive Club. These bonus Avios are in addition to the base Avios that you ear for your stays.

You can read more about Hilton Honors Points & Miles Double Dip on my recent post here.

This is actually one of the better offers for bonus miles for Hilton Honors stays at the moment (especially for inexpensive ones).

Here are the terms and conditions of this promotions:

This promotion is open to eligible participants. An eligible participant is a person aged 18 or over and is a British Airways Executive Club Member (membership term and conditions apply). To be eligible for this offer, you must be (1) be a member of Hilton Honors; (2) select British Airways Executive Club as your preferred Double Dip® Earning Style within your Hilton Honors profile; (3) register online at Honors.com/BAQ22017, prior to completing your stay; and (4) compete an eligible stay at any participating hotel or resort within the Hilton portfolio from May 15, 2017 through August 31, 2017 (promotional period). A ‘stay’ is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again. Specifically excluded from the definition of ‘stay’ are the following types of ineligible stays: wholesale/tour operator packages; contracted crew rates; travel agency discount rates; stays secured utilising Hilton Grand Vacations Club, and Hilton Club timeshare programs; Hilton Grand Vacations marketing packages with a sales presentation requirement, complimentary or barter rooms; NET Group rates, Series Group or IT Group rates; third party websites bookings (irrespective of rate paid); and ‘opaque’ channel bookings where the brand may or may not be known at the time of purchase. Hilton Honors Points (or stay credit) may not be earned (including as a Member benefit) for or during ineligible stays, including without limitation, folio charges incurred during ineligible stays. Allow up to six weeks after check-out, and after promotion has ended, for miles to be credited to your account. All British Airways Executive Club program rules apply. Hilton Honors™ membership, earning of Points and Miles™ and redemption of points are subject to Hilton Honors Terms and Conditions. Award miles are issued subject to the British Airways Terms and Conditions. The promoter reserves the right to withdraw the promotion or amend these terms and conditions without prior notice at any time, for whatever reason and without any liability to customers for doing so.

What about the award stay? Can it earn the 2k bonus?

  • Dwadda

Must I leave my earning preference to “points + miles” until the avios are posted or can I switch back to “points + points” as soon as I complete the 5th stay?

    • You can switch back to Points + Points after the stay has posted (or I would say 24 hours after the stay).

  • Eric

I have the same thought about award stays, doesnt seem to be excluded and if I trigger a charge to the folio it could work?

  • DSShan

Am I still entitled to the Avios reward if I change my earning partner after I made the booking but before I even started my stay? I raised an enquiry to Hilton about a recent stay where they credited my old airline instead of the changed one and they replied that the policy is they will stick to the old in my account at time of booking, not the one in file during the stay. Seems contradictory to the T&C that says you need to register before a stay is completed?

    • Actually the front desk can see what partner you have on file with the Hilton for the stay (or you can see it too if the property uses OnQ – just look at the registration shee carefuly it shows the partner airline).

For some reason I had Avianca LifeMiles for the first one under this promo and I had the front desk to change it to BA. Worked well.

Well I hadn’t expected that to happen as I thought since I registered and changed to BA before my stay, it would be updated. Now I learnt my lesson and will make sure I check when I check in next week at Hilton. I also wrote a long reply to HH about this policy and requirement but have a feeling they’ll probably not relent.
