Airberlin Topbonus Gold Status (Oneworld Sapphire) For Transferring 100,000 American Express Points By June 5, 2018

Airberlin Topbonus has launched an interesting promotion for getting Gold status with the program that maps to Oneworld Sapphire status.

Airberlin Topbonus Gold Status (Oneworld Sapphire) 100,000 Amex Transfer

All you need to do is to transfer 100,000 American Express Membership Rewards points during the promotional period of June 6, 2017 – June 5, 2018 (can be several transfers during the promotional period).

You can access this promotion on Airberlin’s webpage here (you may have to change the page to Germany and change the language to German before you see the content).

Note that 100,000 Amex Membership Rewards points convert to 80,000 Topbonus miles. It is unclear if this offer is only available for Topbonus members in Germany and Austria only.

Conclusion

This is certainly an interesting way to get a status with an airline and with Oneworld alliance.

It is bit uncertain what will happen with the airline, however, that has faced mountain of losses with recent years and Etihad has tried to offload it to Lufthansa.

Thanks for a LoyaltyLobby reader that forwarded me the offer that he had written about on his own German blog (access here).

Here are the terms and conditions of this promotion:

In order to be able to participate in the promotion, a one-time registration under this link is necessary.

Every customer who has successfully registered for the promotion and has successfully transferred at least 100,000 Membership Rewards® points to topbonus during the offer period from 06.06.2017 – 05.06.2018 will be given the gold status for 12 months by topbonus. Transferring Membership Rewards points before registration can not be considered within the scope of this offer. The required 100,000 Membership Rewards points can be made in several transfers within the offer period. The gold status is usually issued immediately after the 100,000 Membership Rewards points (equivalent to 80,000 topbonus bonus miles) have been credited to the topbonus account. The participant will be informed about this by e-mail.

The topbonus Gold Card can be shipped approximately 10 business days. The gold status will be extended if within 12 months after reaching the topbonus gold status within the scope of this offer, the required minimum number of status miles is collected or the required minimum number of flights is flown. If, after the expiry of the 12 months, the required minimum number of qualifications for the gold jam is not reached, only the status at this time is granted according to the current topbonus status conditions and conditions. The action can not be combined with other actions. You can find more information on the respective status requirements and conditions at topbonus.airberlin.com
