Decent “Top Deal” award pricing is available for flights from Germany (DUS especially) to the Canary Islands. Strange, though, is that the (one-way) flights to Tenerife are only 6,000 points (same as the much shorter flights to mainland Spain & Portugal) and to La Palma or Gran Canaria 10,000 pts. Taxes are approx 60 Euros FROM Germany, and 41 Euros TO Germany. (So, a total of 12,000 points and 100 Euros round-trip to Tenerife.) AB’s regular pricing has become ridiculous … with round-trip fares running 400-600 Euros or more to the Canaries from Germany. Most of these AB mid-haul routes are now being flown by NIKI.
