Reader Question: Hilton Honors Gold Fast Track Not Honored After Five Night Stay?

A LoyaltyLobby reader sent me a question by email regarding a Hilton Honors Gold fast track offer that I recently wrote about here.

You can access the Hilton Amex Gold fast track here (not required to pay using Amex).

Here’s the email from the reader:

I recently stayed 5 nights at Hilton kota kinabalu within the 90 days of registration for the hh  gold fast track up grade..

I don’t know what went wrong as I am still at silver tier level.

Or am I not eligible for the upgrade since it was only targeted for Amex global  business travellers?

When you sign up for various promotions or fast track offers, there are number of things that you need to pay attention to such as:

1. Stays versus nights – some promotions are based on NIGHTS and while some are based on number of STAYS

2. Eligible rates – generally promotions are valid on all publicly available and corporate rates. Some promotions may require you to book specific rate, however.

3. Promo dates. Some offers may have booking and stay date requirements.

4. Some offers may even you to require pay using certain payment method such as Amex or MasterCard.

The reader made a mistake here. The Amex offer required four STAYS within 90 days after signing up for the offer regardless number of NIGHTS consumed during the offer period.

Conclusion

It is very easy to make a mistake such as the one the reader made here. You really need to pay attention to the promo Terms and Conditions which I always try to make extremely clear especially if there is any chance for confusion.

Hilton Honors has been very generous with their Gold fast track offers throughout the years and the status is actually useful too.
