Conclusion

There are some good transatlantic economy fares lately, probably due to Norwegian stirring the competition with their no-frills unbundled fares. Accruals are low and change fees are steep, as expected for such cheap fare.

Bought this fare last week to get me to Europe from the east coast so I could do the IB/BA WT+ to DXB and visit Zurich and Madrid instead of just Madrid, and redeposited my AA miles I had used to book biz award flights to MAD. AA ExecPlat upgrades have cleared on the ZRH flights and used Avios to get from there to MAD. So pleasant way to get to Plat next year (EQDs makes any higher tier unlikely) and spend a fees day’s in three cities for an autumn vacation.
