Fabulous Fridays: La Gomme à Mâcher, or How to Pop Your Ears the French Way!

For many travelers, the pressure changes experienced on an airplane cabin can cause an uncomfortable popping feeling in their ears, especially during take-off and landing.

Air France, as it could not be any other way, has decided to try to solve this problem in the best French fashion, by offering its new (and super stylish) chewing gum to their passengers in selected flights and lounges.

The airline worked with BETC, a French advertising agency, to create the product, called “La gomme à mâcher.” The gum comes in two flavors, pistachio-macaroon and crème brûlée, which “embody French-style,” according to Air France.

The gum is complimentary for all passengers on Air France flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Los Angeles and San Francisco and in Air France lounges in Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports.

But if you’re not travelling with the airline any time soon or passing by any of their Paris lounges, you can still buy it on Air France Shopping and at (the ultimate trendy boutique) colette in Paris.

Conclusion

I bought both flavors in colette last week when I visited Paris for research purposes, and although I was skeptical at the beginning about the flavors, I have to say both are delicious! At 3,50€ for a pack of 12 pieces, you’ll certainly be popping your ears in style!
