Qantas 25% Off Of Economy Awards October 9 – June 30, 2018 (Book By August 29)

Qantas has launched 25% off Classic Flight Rewards using Qantas Points for travel between October 9 – June 30, 2017. This offer must be booked by August 29.

Qantas Classic Flight Rewards Sale

The offer is valid on all ECONOMY award travel that is operated by Qantas, Jetstar, Jetstar Asia and Jetstar Japan.

You can access this offer on Qantas’ website here.

Note that you must pay for actual taxes and those nasty fuel charges that Qantas applies for award tickets.

Here are some examples that Qantas has up on its website:

  • From Auckland to Christchurch in Economy one-way on Jetstar, now 4,800 Qantas Points (was 6,400 Qantas Points) plus NZ$20.14 taxes, fees and carrier charges*
  • From Tokyo (Narita) to Osaka (Kansai) in Economy one-way on Jetstar Japan, now 4,800 Qantas Points (was 6,400 Qantas Points) plus JPY1307 taxes, fees and carrier charges*
  • From Singapore to Phuket in Economy one-way on Jetstar Asia, now 7,200 Qantas Points (was 9,600 Qantas Points) plus SG$36.20 taxes, fees and carrier charges*
  • From Sydney to Hong Kong in Economy return on Qantas, now 42,000 Qantas Points (was 56,000 Qantas Points) plus AU$324 taxes, fees and carrier charges*
  • From Brisbane to Los Angeles in Economy return on Qantas, now 67,500 Qantas Points (was 90,000 Qantas Points) plus AU$432 taxes, fees and carrier charges*
  • From Melbourne to London Heathrow (via Perth) in Economy return on Qantas, now 90,000 Qantas Points (was 120,000 Qantas Points) plus AU$661 taxes, fees and carrier charges*

Conclusion

Airline miles are best used for business and first class awards. I do, however, redeem for short-haul economy flights every once in a while when business class awards provide hardly any value and paid ticket prices are high.
