Oneworld Sapphire Status On Sale For $260 Per Month

S7 Airlines frequent flier program has now begun to sell its Gold status for 15K RUB ($261) for month that maps to Oneworld Sapphire.

S7 Oneworld Sapphire

There is no requirement to purchase this to 12 months at a time but you can rather buy it on month to month.

You can access S7 Airlines web page for “additional features” here (you need to change the language to Russian to see this offer).

Oneworld Sapphire status comes with benefits such as business class check in, expedited boarding, extra luggage allowance and lounge access.

Some airlines may waive certain seat selection fees for Oneworld Sapphire members but this is not alliance wide benefit.

Conclusion

This price may sound high but can make sense for someone that has number of Oneworld flights coming up and could utilize lounges and is traveling heavy.

Remember that you can use one Oneworld frequent flier number for status benefits and another one where you actually credit the flight (unless you really want the flight credit to go to S7).

Avianca has previously sold Star Alliance Silver and Gold statuses for cash so someone doing similar in Oneworld wouldn’t come as a surprise.

Here’s the Google translation from the offer:

The service is valid for payment of Gold status and is available to any participant of the program.

The minimum period for which the service is possible is 1 month.

The cost of 1 (One) month of use of the status: 15,000 rubles or 30,000 miles.

The cost of the service is calculated as the cost of 1 month * N months at the request of the participant.

The card proving the presence of the status is virtual (it is displayed in the Personal Area). A physical carrier is not manufactured.

The service is non-refundable.
