Fairmont Presiden’s Club deposited to some member accounts third night free certificate on July 1st (to celebrate Canada turning 150) and I wrote about it at the time.

The other week, I wrote (access here) about the closure of Sofitel Copacabana for more than a year due to extensive refurbishments and can now confirm that this hotel will become Fairmont Copacabana once it opens sometime in the second half of 2018.

Fairmont President’s Club has apparently launched a holiday promotion and deposited third night free certificate to some member accounts (yours truly included).


Members must book and pay for the first two nights and then the third night would be free. I have not personally used this before to confirm what rates are available. [click to continue…]

Yesterday, Le Club AccorHotels started a promotion where Fairmont Gold & Platinum members are eligible for an upgrade and/or breakfast voucher (turned out to be open for all – go and collect your vouchers) that you can read more here.

Accor acquired Toronto based FRHI earlier this year that includes three iconic brands (Fairmont, Swissotel & Raffles).


Le Club AccorHotels has not integrated these programs to its loyalty program (and seems that nothing is going to change in 2017) but now Gold & Platinum members can sign up for “status match” (might be open for everyone) and receive certain benefits at Fairmont & Swissotel hotels. The Accor shareholders approved the purchase of FHRI on Tuesday (read more here) and the FHRI brands of Fairmont, Raffles and Swissotel were immediately available for bookings on website.
