Almost two months into the new WORLD OF HYATT loyalty program it appears that many Hyatt hotels found a way to capitalize on this new structure and eliminated even welcome letters or welcome cards.

Hyatt Diamond members used to receive a welcome card from management and welcome letter outlining the on-property benefits at many properties which seems to have now been eliminated by many. [click to continue…]

Hyatt has always had issues trying to keep their website up during US business hours (down hours at a time during some weekdays) and they must have the most incompetent IT team around.

It’s been ten days now since Hyatt Hotels launched the new World of Hyatt loyalty program after they scrapped the popular Gold Passport, much to the disdain of their customers.

Hyatt Gold Passport has been transformed into World Of Hyatt last night but one thing that didn’t change was the unreliable website which has been offline for hours now.

Everybody familiar with the Hyatt online presence knows that it’s one, if the THE worst website in the entire industry and this new snafu on day one of their new program is another embarrassing blow. [click to continue…]

Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) is consolidating as a must-visit destination in the Caribbean and hotel chains have noticed. Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, Radisson and Double Tree opened new properties in the past two years. Sheraton is also developing a new hotel (but it’s taking them forever to finish it, as the opening date was pushed back -again- recently), and there’s been chatter of a JW Marriot in planning.

Hyatt Regency is the newest addition to Cartagena’s five star hotel portfolio. This hotel, which opened last December, is the first property of three that Hyatt plans to operate in Colombia. The other properties under development will be located in Bogotá and Cali, with expected opening dates during 2018.

Hyatt has sent out emails to their members welcoming (and reminding) them that the new World of Hyatt program is about to take off on March 1st 2017.

Most importantly the email also confirms that the complimentary night valid at all Hyatt Hotels (Cat 1-7) will be credited to re-qualified Globalist (Diamond) Members right away on March 1st. [click to continue…]

Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond Members have their last chance to receive MGM Players Club MLife Platinum Status until 28th February 2017 before that arrangement will be downgraded to MLife Gold on March 1st.

Gold Passport will be changed into World of Hyatt on March 1st 2017 and that will come with a wide range of changes including the status match campaign between Hyatt and MGM Mlife. [click to continue…]
