Priority Club Offer RegisterationThe 2012 promos are slowly strarting to be introduced. IHG’s Priority Club just launched their stay/nights based bonus points promotion for the 1st quarter of 2012. Normally Priority Club member is targeted to one of these based on their stay history, but that doesn’t prevent them for registering one of the other offers if they decide to do so.

Please note that you can only register for ONE of these, and once you have registered you cannot change it.

Depending how many nights you expect to stay during the first quarter of the next year, you should choose 3, 7, or 15 nights version of this promotion.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) Releases Latest Round of Point Breaks – Discounted Hotel Awards for Only 5000 Priority Club Points Per Night – Rate Code IVAN

These Points Breaks are one of the best aspects of the IHG’s Priority Club. They are highly discounted hotel awards, for the next couple of months, released four times a year. When IHG first introduced this program, it was promoted quite heavily. For the past couple of years not so.

InterContinental Hotels Group Points Breaks

So the deal here is that, regardless of the brand, the reward night only costs 5000 Priority Club point per night. This is exceptional value considering that some of the InterContinental hotels on the list normally go for 30000 Priority Club points per night or more.

InterContinental Hotels Group Friends And Family-Program.

InterContinental Friends And Family RatePretty much all the hotel groups have a friends and family program for the friends and family of the associates that work at the hotel. What differentiates InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) program is the fact that it is open for anyone.

With Marriott and Starwood the associate needs to fill out a form that is either given to the traveler or faxed to the destination hotel. With IHG, however, all you need is to have the printed rate voucher that you might be asked to present at the time of checking in.

InterContinental Two Nights For The Price Of One Offer – Ongoing IDEX1 Rate Promotion.

This is a good rate promotion that I have taken advantage of numerous times over the years. It is valid at limited number of properties in United Kingdom and Europe, and is typically available closer to the arrival date than further out. You pay the best available rate for the first night and the second night is free. You need to use rate code IDEX1 to book this special rate, or use the link that you can find below.

This rate is eligible for Priority Club stay credit and points. Sometimes this rate, however, posts as a non-qualifying one, but a quick email (or two) to the Priority Club service center normally straightens things out.

InterContinental Hotels Group Bright Lights – Bright Cities Promotion 7500 Priority Club Points For Two Nights Stay.

I really have to confess that I am always bit skeptical when hotels are running bonus points promotions and all the rates are not eligible. In this case you have to book a special 7500 Priority Club bonus points rate. Comparing rates have been complicate as well when choosing this promotion. You can only check the Best Available Rate without opening another browser.

InterContinental Hotels Group Holiday Bonus Points Offer 7500 Priority Club Points For Two Night Stay

For demonstration purposes I chose one hotel in each of the five promoted cities and chose a two night stay from 18th to 20th this month. I wrote down the special 7500 Priority Club bonus points rate, the best available rate, advance purchase rate if available, and the AAA rate. In all cases the bonus points rate was the highest.

InterContinental Hotels Group Holiday Bonus Points Offer 7500 Priority Club Points For Two Night Stay Excel

My conclusion? I rather take the savings and book either the advance purchase rate or AAA rate if available. These bonus points are rather expensive and not worth it.

InterContinental Hotels Group Last Minute Reward Nights Promotion.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) announced this past spring their latest reward night promotion in addition to point breaks. Every first full week of month they would announce rewards night special at 50% discount for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday stays for the same week.

InterContinental Hotels Group Last Minute Reward Nights Promotion

This promotion is a great way to save points if you can take advantage of it.  The booking window is really short Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for arrivals the same weekend. Of course you really cannot plan anything around these specials. If you happen to be traveling in a city where they have them or living in one and thinking of having a staycation, it is a great way to save big on Priority Club points.

Does It Make Sense To Pay $200 For Joining InterContinental Ambassador Program?

InterContinental Hotels Group’s flagship brand, as the name suggests, is InterContinental Hotels and Resorts. The entire groups loyalty program is called Priority Club. You earn Priority Club points or airline miles for your InterContinental stays. Possible Priority Club status Gold or Platinum, however, doesn’t apply to Intercontinental as they have their own Ambassador program.

InterContinental Ambassador DisplayWhenever you stay at an InterContinental hotel they have these “Become an Ambassador Today” displays normally close to the work desk. The main selling points are:

Guaranteed room upgrade

4pm late check out

Free weekend night

Fresh fruit and mineral water

Single Rate for Double Occupancy

5,000 PRIORITY CLUB® BONUS POINTS

InterContinental Ambassador program is probably the only major that requires you to pay $200 fee for joining. Is it worth it? Let’s have a look at the benefits.

InterContinental Hotels Group Keeps Changing The Terms Of Their Best Price Guarantee And Not For the Better.

InterContinental Hotels Group Best Price Guarantee?Couple of weeks ago I wrote about the new “most powerful” best price guarantee in the hotel industry. IHG promises the first night to be completely free if you find a lower price after booking on another website. It is not difficult to come to a conclusion that there must have been few people around searching for lower prices on competing websites and claiming their free nights.

The guarantee still sounds quite promising:

We’re so sure the best prices for our hotels are found on our website that we’re standing by them—with the most powerful guarantee ever by a global travel company. Find a lower price elsewhere and your first night is free. That’s our Best Price Guarantee and just one of many benefits you get with the Book With Us Advantage.

How to Find Out if You Have Been Upgraded at InterContinental Hotels Group Hotels? Here’s the Solution!

As you have probably already noticed, getting upgrades at hotels and airlines, based on the status I have with them, is very important for me. Typically I always check the website in the morning if the hotel has already processed their upgrades, and what kind of upgrade they have assigned for me.

Here’s a trick that you can use to check if you have been upgraded in advance at any of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) hotels that include InterContinental Hotel, Crowne Plaza, Staybridge Suite, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Candlewood Suites.

Some hotels might process upgrades well in advance, but most hotels only do them the night before. There is a good explanation for this. The hotels can be quite sure about the inventory they have available for upgrades.

InterContinental Hotels Group – Priority Club Brand Multiplier Promo – Earn up to 80K Points & Ambassador Exclusive Promo

InterContinental Hotels Group Priority Club Fall 2011 1 2 3 4 Promo - Earn Up To 80000 Bonus PointsEarlier today I was searching for some exciting Priority Club promotions, as I have quite a few IHG stays lined up in the next couple of months.  Priority Club, Intercontinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) loyalty program has always been very active, and some would say very generous at times, on the promo front and this autumn is not an exception. When I was searching for promos this fall, I came across the following two.

IHG has always tried to get people to try their variety of brands. Personally, I have always been a fan of InterContinental hotels, but quite frankly haven’t really liked too much of their limited service brands where their majority of the properties are.

InterContinental Hotels Groups Tweaks Their New Lowest Rate Guarantee Program.

Two weeks ago I wrote about a new price guarantee from the InterContinental Hotels Group where guest would get a first night free if a lower rate is found within 24 hours after making the reservation. I tried the guarantee by myself and got entirely free one night stay at the InterContinental Sao Paulo.

New InterContinental Hotels Group Low Price GuaranteeNow they have tweaked the guarantee to make it more difficult to qualify for a free night.

New InterContinental Hotels Group Low Price Guarantee – First Night Free

When I was booking an InterContinental property earlier in the week, I noticed a huge banner advertising their new low price guarantee.

holiday-inn-price-guaranteeApparently InterContinental Hotels Group is so convinced that the prices offered through their various online websites are the lowest that they are willing to give you the first night free and discount subsequent nights by 10%.

Over the years I have used Marriott’s Look No Further guarantee few times and it has worked out pretty well. Also Starwood is offering similar guarantee that I have used handful of times. I have no personal experience of the Hilton’s and Hyatt’s similar guarantees. Quite frankly the latter two have not been worth the effort.
