The U.S. Department of Transportation yesterday fined Virgin Atlantic for misclassifying fuel surcharges as taxes on award tickets back in 2014.

The airline had not disclosed on the award page intended to the US audience that the “taxes” also included non-tax items such as fuel surcharges that the airline retains. Virgin Atlantic was fined $30,000 of which it needs to pay only half unless it violates the rule again. [click to continue…]

Singapore Airlines sent out an email today to KrisFlyer members alerting them to changes on elite miles earnings on Virgin Atlantic that will take place on July 1, 2016.

A quarrel on board a Virgin Atlantic Flight from London to Shanghai made waves online after a woman came forward how she was verbally abused (incl racial slurs) and the crew refused to take any action.
