Qatar Airways launched a new 48-hour flash sale (how many of these we’ve had this year already, FOUR? Things must be tough in Doha!) and as always there are some very interesting prices.

This time, the sale is not global. Some markets are running their own independent promotional sales (like Japan, Philippines or Taiwan), and some markets have been excluded all together from the sale.

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker issued a written apology for controversial comments he made during a conference that U.S. carriers ‘are crap and their flight attendants are grandmothers’.

American Airways informed both Qatar Airways, its fellow Oneworld alliance member airline, and Etihad Airways on June 29, 2017, that it would terminate its codeshare agreement with both effective March 25, 2018.

Qatar Airways CEO, sometimes hot headed but always entertaining and outspoken, Akbar Al Baker made some not so nice comments about US based airlines and crews in an event held at the InterContinental hotel in Dublin that got recorded and uploaded to YouTube.

These comments are somewhat surprising because Qatar Airways is in the process of acquiring 4.75% stake in American Airlines (maximum it can purchase without the AA board’s approval) and would like to have it raised to 10%. [click to continue…]

In light of the recent crisis in the gulf surrounding Qatar and their alleged support of terrorism, Qatar Airways CEO always maintained that the airline will ride it out and continue their growth process on schedule.

Even though he mentioned previously that Qatar Airways would continue to take delivery of ordered jets as planned the carrier has now cancelled four Airbus A350 on the grounds of delays caused by Airbus. [click to continue…]

British Airways Mixed Fleet cabin crew begins their next strike on Saturday that lasts until July 16. The CAA has approved BA’s application to wet lease nine short-haul aircraft with crews from Qatar Airways to operate flights on their behalf during the strike.

British Airways is having yet another strike with its Mixed Fleet cabin crew between July 1 – 16, 2017, which the airline would not prefer paying a living wage.
